Reporting Illegal Aliens

Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement

Despite the justification that advocacy groups are able to conjure up those who enter this country without proper authorization are breaking the law, plain and simple.  These ‘Illegal aliens’ are subject to deportation at any time. Their very presence is in direct violation of federal law.

Our laws also hold that even lawful permanent resident aliens (those with a “green card”) can be deported if they are convicted of certain crimes. These criminal alien residents can lose their permanent resident status and be deported just like the illegal aliens if the proper authorities only knew about them.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the typical authority with whom to report the presence of illegal aliens, non-immigrant visa violators, and green card holders who have been convicted of crimes.  The law enforcement components of the DHS are now called the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

There are many options for reporting both illegal aliens as well as the greedy employers who hire them.  CILE has compiled a few of them here.  Please join us in these actions to encourage law enforcement to enforce our laws.  Each of the reporting methods below provide for complete anonymity.

NOTE:  Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement is very interested in the reports which are filed as a result of our system.  We have developed a simple, anonymous form which we use to  compile and analyze statistics related to illegal alien reporting.  The form is completely anonymous, entirely voluntary, and will be used only for statistical analysis and reporting.

After you have filed your report with any of the agencies below, we ask that you return to this page to fill out the report by clicking here.

Thank you for your support!

FILE A REPORT WITH ICE PDF Print E-mail
To report an illegal alien, or an employer who hires them, contact the Burlington, Vermont ICE ‘TipLine’ and ask for the ‘Duty Officer’.  Tell them you want to “report illegal alien activity”.  If you cannot speak with a Special Agent from the Investigations Division, ask to speak to a Deportation Officer from the Detention and Removal unit.  Officers in these divisions are obligated by law to make a written record of your report.

FILE A REPORT WITH THE FBI PDF Print E-mail
The Department of Homeland Security still doesn’t have a way to report illegal aliens over the internet.  But the Federal Bureau of Investigation does! Thanks to a recent delegation of authority by Attorney General John Ashcroft to the FBI Director, all Special Agents of the FBI now have the power to enforce immigration law. So send your internet tips to the FBI by clicking here or by calling or writing one of the FBI field offices.

REPORT DRAFT REGISTRATION VIOLATIONS PDF Print E-mail
Believe it or not, all male illegal aliens, as well as male permanent resident aliens, ages 18 through 25 are required by Federal law to register with the Selective Service System. If they do not register, they can be prosecuted for a felony and fined up to $250,000 and/or imprisoned for up to five years. They may also be denied U.S. citizenship.  Selective Service registration is conveniently available in Spanish. Report draft registration violators to the FBI for prosecution by the U.S. Attorney.

NOTE: CILE does not believe or acknowledge that registration of illegal aliens with Selective Service validates them as legal US citizens.  However, because they are required to register, failing to do so is (another) violation of federal law.

REPORT SOCIAL SECURITY FRAUD PDF Print E-mail
Many Illegal aliens and criminal alien residents are guilty of some type of fraud against the Social Security system.  For them, false documents are a way of life.  Prosecuting Social Security fraud has been used successfully to tie-up terrorist suspects, even if they are not illegal aliens.  The Office of the Inspector General of the Social Security Administration operates a fraud hotline for reporting misuse of social security cards and false statements on claims either by employers or employees.

REPORT EMPLOYERS
The greatest incentive for illegal aliens to come to the United States is to find work. If there are no employers willing to hire them, then the flood of illegal aliens will subside.

From the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986:

UNLAWFUL EMPLOYMENT OF ALIENS
SEC. 274A. (a) 8 USC 1324a MAKING EMPLOYMENT OF UNAUTHORIZED ALIENS UNLAWFUL —

(1) IN GENERAL. — It is unlawful for a person or other entity to hire, or to recruit or refer for a fee, for employment in the United States —

(A) an alien, knowing the alien is an unauthorized alien (as defined in subsection (h)(3))

  1. Report illegal aliens? To whom? The people you want to report them to invited them here, but just in case I’m wrong, I’ll call my local FBI office and report the state of California for starters.

  2. “If you cannot speak with a Special Agent from the Investigations Division, ask to speak to a Deportation Officer from the Detention and Removal unit. Officers in these divisions are obligated by law to make a written record of your report.”

Which will then be duly noted and filed.

    Problem solved.
