A NATO patrol intercepted Russian fighter jets over the Baltic Sea, Lithuanian authorities said on Wednesday, as Moscow marks the anniversary of its takeover of Crimea with one of its largest military drills in years.

Police are hunting a gunman who shot at least six people — killing one — at multiple locations Wednesday morning in Mesa, Ariz.
The Arizona Republic reported that the first shooting occurred in a motel room, where three were shot. The suspect reportedly fled the scene and shot three others. Police opened 51 investigations on Tuesday related to alleged voting fraud ranging from impersonation, stolen ballots and threats against ballot officials, and 23 suspects were being pursued.

Lifting a 40-year-old U.S. ban on crude exports would create a wide range of jobs in the oil drilling supply chain and broader economy even in states that produce little or no oil, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The Arizona House of Representatives passed a new bill on Wednesday that stands to completely remove the state from the Obama administration’s plan to provide amnesty and federal benefits to illegal immigrants.
House Bill 2368, sponsored by Republican Rep. Last month, ISIS released an amateur quality video showing Islamic State fighters smashing priceless historic relics of ancient Mesopotamia inside of the Ninawa Museum in Mosul. Portsmouth, VA — While police in Portsmouth were stopped early Friday morning at a Dunkin’ Donuts, a miracle happened. The heavens smiled upon America’s indentured slaves and the cop car caught fire, seriously. The car was parked at the Dunkin’ Donuts @ 4701 George Washington Highway in Portsmouth, VA.
Firefighters f#@ked it up around 2am and put the fire out. Clueless, the police are investigating what caused the fire. No one was hurt by the blaze except the police car; a car traditionally used to help cops issue tickets and imprison folks into Virginia’s for-profit prison system. House Democrats will introduce legislation this week that would block handguns from firing any sort of ammunition that can penetrate body armor worn by police officers.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Monday signed a bill to automatically register voters using drivers’ license data — and she did it with an extra dose of enthusiasm since she had first developed and championed this legislation when she was secretary of state.

A rookie Los Angeles cop is on the run after police in nearby Pomona called him a person of interest in the early Friday shooting death at a local nightclub.
Cops on Sunday found the abandoned silver Volkswagen Jetta belonging to 27-year-old Henry Solis, a probationary officer with the LAPD, just blocks from the Vive Tequila Lounge and Nightclub in Pomona, a city about 30 miles east of Los Angeles. Melting snow and rain caused the Ohio River to spill its banks over the weekend, cutting off roads and flooding homes in the southern part of Ohio.

About $1m provided by the CIA to a secret Afghan government fund ended up in the hands of al-Qaida in 2010 when it was used to pay a ransom for an Afghan diplomat, the New York Times reported on Saturday.
Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden had at first been concerned about the payment, fearing the CIA knew about the money and had tainted it with poison, radiation or a tracking device, the Times said, and suggested it be converted to another currency. WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal agents in a sweep targeting the most dangerous criminal immigrants arrested 15 people who have been allowed to remain in the U.S. under President Barack Obama’s executive action intended to protect children who came to the U.S. years ago with their parents, The Associated Press has learned.
Fourteen of the 15 had been convicted of a crime, the Homeland Security Department confirmed late Thursday. In at least one case, the Obama administration renewed the protective status for a young immigrant after that person’s conviction in a drug case, a U.S. official briefed on the arrests said. After a 15-hour flight, we landed at Travis Air Force Base, California, at about 10:00 AM, September 19, 1967. Two Missouri police officers shot overnight in Ferguson were released from the hospital this morning after sustaining non-threatening injuries following a night of renewed protests, the St. Louis County Police said in a Facebook post.
“Both were in serious condition before being released from Barnes Jewish Hospital,” the post read.

Two police officers were shot and seriously wounded early Thursday outside the police department in Ferguson, Mo. amid protests that followed the resignation of the town’s police chief.
St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told a news conference that a 41-year-old officer from St. Louis County was shot in the shoulder at around midnight local time, while a 32-year-old officer from suburban Webster Groves was shot in the face. Both victims were taken to a local hospital.
