A couple who are both school bus drivers with ties to the Michigan Militia embezzled at least $50,000 from the woman’s mother and used it to buy an arsenal of firearms that included a machine gun and 17,000 rounds of ammunition, authorities say.
Sarah Nick, 32, and her 33-year-old husband, Steven Nick, embezzled the money from Sarah Nick’s 67-year-old mother, who has serious health problems, Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said at a news conference Tuesday at which he displayed the weapons. HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge on Tuesday denied a Justice Department request to lift a temporary hold on President Barack Obama’s executive action that sought to shield millions of immigrants from deportation.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen refused to stay his Feb. 16 decision that granted a preliminary injunction requested by 26 states. The U.S. government wants the injunction lifted — allowing Obama’s action to proceed — while it appeals Hanen’s ruling to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court in New Orleans. PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – A man and his seven children found dead in their Maryland home Monday were poisoned by carbon monoxide from a generator they were using after the power company cut off their electricity, a couple who identified themselves as the man’s mother and stepfather said.

Despite their best efforts to undermine the Constitution, democrats at the federal level have been unsuccessful at disarming the American public. Switching tactics, a liberal legislator from Connecticut (where else?) thinks she can pay gun owners to voluntarily disarm. And by pay I mean with taxpayer money, not with her own funds.

Iceland’s government is considering a revolutionary monetary proposal – removing the power of commercial banks to create money and handing it to the central bank.
The proposal, which would be a turnaround in the history of modern finance, was part of a report written by a lawmaker from the ruling centrist Progress Party, Frosti Sigurjonsson, entitled “A better monetary system for Iceland”.

A Wichita State University mathematician sued the top Kansas election official Wednesday, seeking paper tapes from electronic voting machines in an effort to explain statistical anomalies favoring Republicans in counts coming from large precincts across the country.
Beth Clarkson, chief statistician for the university’s National Institute for Aviation Research, filed the open records lawsuit in Sedgwick County District Court as part of her personal quest to find the answer to an unexplained pattern that transcends elections and states. The lawsuit was amended Wednesday to name Secretary of State Kris Kobach and Sedgwick County Elections Commissioner Tabitha Lehman. Like many sojourners to this country, Alejandro Fuentes Mena lives with uncertainty as U.S. immigration policy is debated in the courts, Congress and the White House. But as he awaits a final ruling on his own future, he’s helping other young people build their dreams.
Fuentes, who settled in the United States illegally as a child, is a Denver elementary school teacher under a pilot program that recruits young immigrants like him to teach disadvantaged students. New York City lawmakers and Mayor Bill de Blasio are reportedly discussing legislation that would give voting rights to non-citizens in local elections.

A local Brooksville business, American Gun and Pawn, has gotten a bizarre letter from Suntrust Bank which is where the company has a checking account. The owner of American Gun and Pawn, Steve Champion, was shocked when he received the certified letter.
Unbelievably, the letter states that American Gun and Pawn is not a business that Suntrust Bank wants to do business with and gives them only ten days to close the account or it will be closed for them. Slamming world powers’ framework nuclear deal with Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday demanded that any final deal include a “clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition of Israel’s right to exist.”
Netanyahu has been perhaps the most vocal critic of nuclear talks with Iran, insisting again and again it can’t be trusted. He took his case to the U.S. Congress last month, at a time before negotiators had hammered out any sort of agreement, over the objections of President Barack Obama.
