A report of a suspicious person crackled from John Messner’s RadioShack police scanner, one of two he keeps at his home in Knoxville, Tenn.

This week, Kaitlin Bennett tweeted the images, writing, “Now that I graduated from @KentState, I can finally arm myself on campus. When the search continued for the gunman who shot an ATF agent in the face, local and federal police canvassed the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago, some neighbors said they were angry with what they called an aggressive and excessive response. But what should open some eyes is the quote by a mother from the neighborhood.
“Just because you’re wearing a badge, it matters more?” asked Mayra Salinas, a mother who lives in the area. “How does that make us feel? We have a lot of homicides that go unsolved, and not one time do they put this much effort into finding the gunman that killed our friend, our brother.” Continue reading “Residents Say Cops Too Aggressive: ‘Just Because You’re Wearing A Badge, It Matters More?’”
Although you’d think the headline is a joke, it’s not. Illinois police have threatened to kill their drug-sniffing dogs if the state has the nerve to grant the peasants living under their tyrannical control the freedom to grow and smoke a plant.
Today, anti-marijuana advocates offer a new, insane reason why we shouldn’t legalize weed. K-9 units are trained to detect a variety of illicit substances, including weed. However, once marijuana becomes legal, the police can no longer use these dogs because they won’t need to sniff out “illegal pot” use. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A former police chief told a judge Tuesday that a fired police officer’s fatal shooting of a stranded black motorist was “unjustified” and resulted from the officer’s “lazy and reckless” tactics as he approached the victim’s broken down SUV on a darkened highway off-ramp.
W.D. Libby, a former Punta Gorda, Florida, police chief, testified that ex-officer Nouman Raja violated numerous protocols in October 2015 when in plainclothes he drove an unmarked van the wrong way up the off-ramp, exited in front of Corey Jones’ SUV and didn’t identify himself as a police officer. Libby said given the circumstances, Jones, who had a concealed weapons permit, likely thought he was about to be robbed or carjacked and pulled his handgun. Raja told investigators he opened fire when Jones pointed his gun at him. Continue reading “Ex-police chief: Officer’s actions led to motorist shooting”

PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (AP) — An aging C-130 Hercules that rescued and resupplied U.S. citizens after last year’s hurricanes crashed onto a Georgia highway during what was supposed to be its final flight, killing all nine Puerto Rican airmen on board.

Isabelo Rivera said. He said the aircraft was more than 60 years old. Continue reading “Transport plane that crashed in Georgia was on final trip”
