Kooky Legislative Proposal Appears to have been Drafted by Clowns

In the “Old West,” hucksters prided themselves on being able to sell useless “bottles of nothing” to ignorant rubes.  But it would take a world-class rube to fall for Michael Bloomberg’s Senate Bill 941, a buffoonish bill being hocked in the Oregon Senate, but chock-full of laughable errors and clownish mistakes.   Continue reading “Bloomberg Tries to Buy Oregon and Expand his Gun Control Web”

The Mexican military has made a deal to purchase 21 Blackhawk helicopters in the last year, for nearly $800 million (Defense Industry Daily)NACLA – by John Lindsay-Poland

Mexico has been on a buying spree for U.S. military equipment, especially helicopters and armored vehicles, with purchases amounting to more than a billion dollars in the last 12 months. U.S. Northern Commmand chief Admiral William Gortney said [3] the combined deals represent “a 100-fold increase from prior years.” For a military supposedly proud of its independence from the United States, it is a dependent client.   Continue reading “The Mexican Military’s Buying Binge”

Dimona nuclear reactor circa 1960sIsrael National News – by Ari Yashar, Matt Wanderman

In a development that has largely been missed by mainstream media, the Pentagon early last month quietly declassified a Department of Defense top-secret document detailing Israel’s nuclear program, a highly covert topic that Israel has never formally announced to avoid a regional nuclear arms race, and which the US until now has respected by remaining silent.

But by publishing the declassified document from 1987, the US reportedly breached the silent agreement to keep quiet on Israel’s nuclear powers for the first time ever, detailing the nuclear program in great depth.   Continue reading “US Declassifies Document Revealing Israel’s Nuclear Program”

The late United States Marine Corps Major General Smedley D. Butler is perhaps most famous for his post-retirement speech titled “War is a Racket”. In the early 1930s, Butler presented the speech on a nationwide tour. It was so popular that he wrote a longer version as a small book that was published in 1935.

Butler points to a variety of examples, mostly from World War I, where industrialists whose operations were subsidised by public funding were able to generate substantial profits essentially from mass human suffering.   Continue reading “Blood Money: These Companies and People Make Billions of Dollars From War”

The fight against the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement continues as a possible April vote nears. The United States and 11 other Latin American and Asian nations are working out the final details of the secret agreement that would affect around 40 percent of the global economy. Recently representatives of several Japanese non-profit digital rights groups presented a joint statement describing the threats the TPP represents to Japan’s culture. The organizations believe the extension of copyright terms will threaten the anime and fan-art communities. They cite a provision that allows authorities to act on alleged violations without a formal complaint. Critics of the trade deal also fear the loss of sovereignty by the individual nations and an increase in power for transnational corporate bodies.   Continue reading “Trans-Pacific Partnership Vote Nears, Resistance Builds”

Mexico has more consulates in the United States than any other country in the world.Examiner – by Jim Kouri

In a news story that was totally ignored by the major news outlets, and even most minor media outfits, 25 men and women who were protesting President Barack Obama’s executive action “immigration program” took to the streets of the Californian city of San Bernardino. The group of demonstrators, many of whom were affiliated with groups such as the Minuteman Project, targeted San Bernardino’s Mexican consulate which is located across the street from City Hall.

While demonstrating in opposition to Obama’s executive immigration program, the angry protesters entered the Mexican Consulate to deliver a complaint letter to the Mexican consul assigned to that Californian facility. Quite simply, the protesters voiced their demand that the Mexican government give these American citizens the same benefits bonanza from Mexico that are provided to Mexicans who are illegally residing in the U.S.   Continue reading “American protesters storm Mexican consulate demanding bonanza of goodies”

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

This could be Oregon’s motto this week. Either that or, “Are you kidding me?!”

Seriously, Oregon’s officials could not be more embarrassing if they tried. Well, maybe if they put on an adult sized Tigger Costume and paraded around for no apparent reason.   Continue reading “What Do the ‘Princess of Darkness’ & Dumpster Diving Have in Common? Oregon Politics!”

Sen. Elizabeth Steiner Hayward, a family physician who led the charge for strengthening Oregon’s school immunization law, will no longer pursue the legislation, a staffer said today.

Senate Bill 442, which has had one public hearing and attracted national attention, would have eliminated religious and philosophical exemptions from school shots. Only medical exemptions would have been allowed.   Continue reading “Senator drops Oregon vaccine mandate bill”
