The current case, known as Gill et al. v. Department of Justice et al (Gill v. DOJ), seeks to halt the standards that define the entire NSI program. If Gill was successful, it could effectively stop it.

The case involves five Americans—“two photographers, one white man who is a devout Muslim, and two men of Middle Eastern and South Asian descent”—according to the original July 2014 complaint. Among others, lawyers from the American Civil Liberties Union brought the case.   Continue reading “DHS considers gamers & photographers a suspicious activity”

During a Senate hearing examining federal law enforcement organizations’ annual budget requests, Sen. Dianne Feinstein veered off course, and took a shot at the FBI for ignoring last year’s notorious torture report.

“One of my disappointments was to learn that the six year report of the Senate intelligence committee on the detention and interrogation program sat in a locker and no one looked at it,” Feinstein told FBI Director James Comey, relaying information she had received on the whereabouts of the 6,000 page report she prepared while Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee on the CIA’s post-9/11 torture practices.   Continue reading “Dianne Feinstein Blasts FBI for Letting Torture Report Gather Dust in Locker”

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man and his fiancee have sued Rent-A-Center and a western Pennsylvania police department claiming he was wrongly arrested because company employees falsely said he had a gun when they came to repossess furniture.

Tyrie Sheppard and Sade Fallin say the Rent-A-Center workers went to their home in Wilkinsburg, near Pittsburgh, on Dec. 27 to repossess a bed and refrigerator after the couple missed a payment. The couple contends they owed less than $200, missed the payment only because she gave birth to their child days before and already had a court date scheduled to resolve the matter when Rent-A-Center workers arrived.   Continue reading “Couple sues Rent-A-Center, police over gun report arrest”

This summer beware: Is your neighbor having a cookout? Call the police, they could be a terrorist!

This is no joke, it’s a sad state of affairs when no one is questioning the absurdity of the alleged war on terror (barbecuing)!

The following B.S. bulletin prepared by the DHS of Intelligence and the FBI’s Directorate of Intelligence and the National Counterterrorism Center was issued in January to law enforcement and first responders throughout the country.   Continue reading “Warning: Your neighbor’s BBQ could be a terrorist meeting”

Snowflake, AZ — Dog owner and rights flexing guru, Terri Franklin, stood her ground against a police officer who, get this, tried to arrest her dog.

If a video of this incident didn’t exist, it would be nearly impossible to believe. However, Franklin is not only a rights flexing hero, but she also knows the importance of filming police encounters.

Last weekend, Franklin went to the grocery store with her pit bull in tow like she always does. She left her beloved pet in her own vehicle with the windows cracked while she went into the store. It was not a hot day, and the dog was perfectly safe.   Continue reading “Rights Flexing Woman Successfully Stops a Cop from Arresting HER DOG….Seriously”

Americans’ mentions of the economy as the top problem (11%) dropped this month, leaving it tied with jobs (10%) for second place.   Continue reading “Americans Name Government as No. 1 U.S. Problem”

Judge Roy L. RichterThe Newspaper

A US Department of Justice report released earlier this month called into question the predatory tactics of traffic police and municipal court in Ferguson, Missouri. The high court decided on Monday to clear the bench and put Court of Appeals Judge Roy L. Richter in charge of all the city’s cases in the St. Louis County municipal court.

“Judge Richter will bring a fresh, disinterested perspective to this court’s practices and he is able and willing to implement needed reforms,” Chief Justice Mary R. Russell said in a statement. “Extraordinary action is warranted in Ferguson, but the court also is examining reforms that are needed on a statewide basis.”   Continue reading “Missouri Supreme Court Stops Ferguson Motorist Shakedown”

Straight-A College Student Kicked out Because He Was HomeschooledTruthstream Media – by Melissa Melton

With all this talk about mandatory vaccination legislation, a lot more parents are discussing homeschool as an option (while that option is even still available). Aside from that, more and more parents are asking how much propaganda do we really want to expose our children to on their path to adulthood, anyway? Add Common Core to make matters that much more ridiculous and more people are choosing homeschool as the best option for their child’s mind.

That being said, the story I’m about to discuss out of the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) shows the enormity of what homeschooling parents truly are up against in this country.   Continue reading “Straight-A College Student Kicked out Because He Was Homeschooled”

Washington, D.C. — Congress has really outdone itself this time. On Monday, neoconservative Republicans in the Senate were apparently so eager to go to war with Iran that they broke a federal law known as the Logan Act in the process. The Logan Act has been around since 1799 and has remained mostly unchanged, created to keep rogue members of Congress from undermining foreign relations.

How did Senate Republicans violate the Logan Act? Well they did that by being war mongers. But more specifically, when 47 members of Congress signed onto a letter that was sent to Iranian officials in an attempt to undermine the peace deal with Iran, they clearly violated the act — and also all committed felonies. According to Cornell University, the act reads:   Continue reading “Half of the US Senate Just Committed Felonies, Could Face 3 Years in Prison”

Aaron Bitler said Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies violated his rights when they forced him to delete footage he captured with a drone while deputies were investigating a burglary in his neighborhood earlier this week.My News 13 – by Caroline Rowland

An Orlando man believes Orange County deputies went too far and violated his civil rights after forcing him to delete video he took with his drone.

Aaron Bitler said he flies his drone every day. He thought it was normal to send it up in the air when he saw deputies in his neighborhood Monday night.

“I’m bringing it up and I’m trying to see what the police (are) looking at,” Bitler said. “I want to make sure there is no one coming near us or our property.”   Continue reading “Orlando man said deputies forced him to delete video he captured on drone”

They might be the landlords from hell, but you’re not allowed to complain about them.

A Florida apartment complex is under fire after management forced new tenants to sign a “social media addendum” that threatened a fine of $10,000 if they gave the place a bad review online, Ars Technica reports. The addendum, which went viral Tuesday after the Windermere Cay complex in Winter Garden started handing it out, also forces tenants to sign away their rights to any photos, reviews or other material about the complex posted online:   Continue reading “Florida Apartment Complex Threatens Tenants With $10,000 Fine For Bad Reviews Online”

A day before administering a searing condemnation of the police department of Ferguson, Mo., the Department of Justice quietly published a separate report on the number of Americans killed at the hands of law enforcement.

The verdict? In a startling admission, the Bureau of Justice Statistics confirmed that the government’s own data on so-called police-involved deaths have been off for more than a decade — by more than 100 percent.   Continue reading “Missed by a Mile – How hard is it to count deaths by police?”

When will they ever learn? Ninth Circuit Judge Alex Kozinski declared months ago in a much-quoted opinion that there is “an epidemic of Brady violations abroad in the land.” And yet, prosecutors continue to deny there’s a problem. Indeed, the Department of Justice gets outright indignant at the suggestion, and so do many state court prosecutors. They bristle at the very mention of the possibility.   Continue reading “California Prosecutor Falsifies Transcript of Confession”
