Turns out hiring wasn’t nearly as strong in 2018 and early 2019 as the government initially reported — by about a half-million jobs.

The economy had about 501,000 fewer jobs as of March 2019 than the Bureau of Labor Statistics initially calculated in its survey of business establishments. That’s the largest revision since the waning stages of the Great Recession in 2009.  Continue reading “U.S. created 500,000 fewer jobs since 2018 than previously reported, new figures show”

So that just happened.

Yes, President Trump, when asked about his ongoing trade war with China, deemed himself “the chosen one” when talking with reporters outside the White House on Wednesday. As Trump put it, when it comes to dealing with China’s trade practices, “somebody had to do it.” He then added “I am the chosen one” as he looked up to the sky.  Continue reading “Trump: ‘I am the chosen one’”

Border Patrol agents rescued a group of 10 migrants who were lost in the desert after being abandoned by human smugglers. The migrants spent 10 days in the Arizona desert — at least six of those without water.

A tweet from the White House reports that Border Patrol agents and an aircrew from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began a search for a group of lost migrants after receiving a 911 call. The Air and Marine Operations (AMO) located the lost migrants and landed with a Border Patrol emergency medical technician. President Trump isn’t worried about the economy. No really, he isn’t. Everything is going to be fine. Seriously. All of that talk of a recession last week and over the weekend, spurred by a few ominous market indicators, a sputtering global economy, and Trump’s continuing trade war with China, was overblown hype peddled by forces that want nothing more than to make the president look bad. After all, how bad could things really be when we’re all so rich?  Continue reading “Trump Says a Recession Isn’t Possible Because Everyone Is Rich”

This column is an unapologetic appeal to action.

In 2016, Donald Trump said, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters.” He must still believe that, because after promising his supporters that he will protect the 2nd Amendment, he is right now in the process of enacting most of the Democrats’ ANTI-2nd Amendment agenda.  Continue reading “Donald Trump’s Broken Promise To Protect The 2nd Amendment”

But a police officer shooting a civilian counts as gun violence. Every time an officer uses a gun against an innocent or an unarmed person contributes to the culture of gun violence in this country.” – Journalist Celisa Calacal
