In a report issued by a U.S. government-funded research group tasked with studying drug abuse and addiction, researchers are admitting that marijuana is useful in killing off specific types of brain tumors.

The report — coming from a government-backed group with annual budget of over $1 billion — arrives at an awkward time for the administration following an announcement by the Department of Justice this week that it will continue to prosecute medical marjiuana cases against individuals in defiance of Congress.   Continue reading “Feds Admit Medical Pot Works on Brain Tumors — but They’re Going After Users Anyway”

(Doug Mataconis)  Louisiana businesses are suddenly discovering a new law that flew under the radar during the last legislative session:

Cold hard cash. It’s good everywhere you go, right? You can use it to pay for anything.

But that’s not the case here in Louisiana now. It’s a law that was passed during this year’s busy legislative session. Continue reading “Louisiana Makes It Illegal To Use Cash To Buy Used Goods”

The primary function of the mainstream media is not to inform you, but to distract you from what’s really happening. When it comes down to it, nobody really cares whether a tiny pizza joint in Indiana wants to cater a gay wedding with pizzas. (Who caters their wedding with pizza, anyway?) The far greater issue happening today is how we are all being enslaved, oppressed and exploited no matter what our sexual orientation, religious background, race or country of origin.   Continue reading “Indiana gay pizza uproar just the latest media ploy to distract you from the greater truth: We are all being oppressed, poisoned and bankrupted”

Last summer, 35-year-old Jeanetta Rily was shot and killed in front the Bonner General Hospital by members of the Sandpoint Police Department. At the time of the incident she was intoxicated, and displaying aggressive behavior. The woman had a long history substance abuse and mental illness, and after drinking a half a bottle of vodka while ranting about hurting herself and others, her husband decided the best thing to do would be to drive her to the hospital.   Continue reading “Graphic Footage Surfaces of Idaho Police Shooting Mentally Ill Pregnant Woman”

“It does what it’s supposed to do, but my god it’s doing something to us as farmers”

Now that the World Health Organization has deemed Roundup chemicals like glyphosate “likely to cause cancer,” it should come as no surprise that people are experiencing the outcome suggested in such a statement. In one of many cases, one farmer is blaming the biotech industry for his wife’s cancer.   Continue reading “Farmer Blames Monsanto Chemical for His Wife’s Cancer”

(Kit Walsh)  EFF is fighting for vehicle owners’ rights to inspect the code that runs their vehicles and to repair and modify their vehicles, or have a mechanic of their choice do the work. At the moment, the anti-circumvention prohibition in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act arguably restricts vehicle inspection, repair, and modification. If EFF is successful then vehicle owners will be free to inspect and tinker, as long as they don’t run afoul of other regulations, such as those governing vehicle emissions, safety, or copyright law.   Continue reading “In DMCA Filings, Automakers Say You Don’t Really Own Your Car”

With Western Help, Chinese Communists Build “New World Order”The New American – by Alex Newman

Learning to speak Chinese may be a really good investment.

In 2009, billionaire financier and establishment powerbroker George Soros called for the communist regime ruling mainland China to “own” what he referred to as the “New World Order.” In 2015, it has become clear that Beijing is stepping up to the plate as its agents infiltrate the full architecture of existing “global governance” institutions, even while adding their own totalitarian-minded tentaclesto it. And despite the effort to portray near-bankrupt Western governments as helpless and confused spectators in the whole process, the globalist European and American establishment’s fingerprints are all over the rise of the Chinese Communist autocrats, and the accompanying decline of the West.   Continue reading “With Western Help, Chinese Communists Build “New World Order””

The Tulsa, Oklahoma, sheriff’s deputy who shot and killed a suspected black market gun dealer reportedly did it unintentionally.

In a statement released by the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, the reserve sheriff’s deputy “inadvertently” fired his weapon instead of grabbing his taser.

The shooting of ex-convict Eric Harris, 44, took place Friday outside a Dollar General Store during an undercover sting by sheriff deputies in a controlled buy of weapons and ammunition.   Continue reading “Deputy Accidentally Grabs Gun Instead Of Taser, Shoots Suspect”

Zero Hedge – by Tyler Durden

Who knew that the revolution would start with those radical Icelanders? It does, though. One Frosti Sigurjonsson, a lawmaker from the ruling Progress Party, issued a report today that suggests taking the power to create money away from commercial banks, and hand it to the central bank and, ultimately, Parliament.

Can’t see commercial banks in the western world be too happy with this. They must be contemplating wiping the island nation off the map. If accepted in the Iceland parliament , the plan would change the game in a very radical way. It would be successful too, because there is no bigger scourge on our economies than commercial banks creating money and then securitizing and selling off the loans they just created the money (credit) with.   Continue reading “Iceland Stuns Banks: Plans To Take Back The Power To Create Money”

One of the biggest stories for years in the alternative media was the mysterious and foreboding purchase by Homeland Security of more than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition.

Thanks to coverage on prominent sites like DrudgeReport, the story reached into mainstream media, prompting official spin and downplaying of the purchase.

Now, a new Homeland Security purchase order listed on FedBizOpps  also raises an eyebrow or two, given the heated and divided political and social climate at hand. Just look at what happened in Ferguson…   Continue reading “Are They Arming for Riots Across America? Homeland Stockpiling “Less Lethal Specialty Munitions””
