CARMEL, Maine — A combination of snow, speed and a busy morning commute Wednesday led to what may be the largest chain-reaction crash in state history.

Interstate 95 was shut down to northbound travel between Newport and Bangor for more than four hours after 75 vehicles slid, spun, slammed into each other and skidded off the snow-slickened highway.   Continue reading “Police: 75-vehicle pileup on I-95 largest chain-reaction crash in Maine”

The new generation of “maker” tools like 3-D printers and milling machines promises to let anyone make virtually anything—from prosthetic limbs to firearms—in the privacy and convenience of his or her own home. But first, those tools have to get to customers’ homes. That’s going to be difficult for at least one new machine with the potential to make homemade firearms, because FedEx is refusing to deliver it.   Continue reading “FedEx And UPS Refuse to Ship a Digital Mill That Can Make Untraceable Guns”

Oil prices dumped (last night’s major 8.9 million barrel inventory build from API), pumped (the Saudi minister claiming “demand is growing” – which just seems like total fiction given economic backdrops and China’s VLCC count plunge), and then this morning, dumped setting the scene for this morning’s EIA inventory data. Against expectations of an 8 million barrel build, crude inventories saw a 8.43 million barrel build (5 times higher than the 5 year average). Record levels of production and record total inventory sent WTI plunging out of the gate but it is stabilizing for now…   Continue reading “Crude Oil Inventories Surge For 7th Week In A Row To Record Highs Amid Record Production”

Yes, the global warmers – climate change aficionados have gone into hibernation. With provocative statements by none other than Mayor DiBlasio ( a think tank know it all legend in his own mind) the Kool Aid  imbibers are pumping co2’s into the atmosphere faster than Mount St. Helens.  What has caused them to do this – we thought all along they would be going green, but Mother Nature through an icicle into their plans; they too love to be warm at heart. With temperatures plummeting to all time lows, even Washington D.C, the heart of the Mean Green Machine, saw a minus 4 below, thirty degrees lower than the coldest it has ever been on February 23. Is a new ice age upon us, that is the question asked by millions who are literally “dying” to understand their fate.   Continue reading “Global Warming – Ten Degrees Colder Than Normal”

The vast majority of U.S. workers’ wages either stagnated or declined last year, and a key monthly survey on consumer confidence shows Americans are more skeptical about their chances of getting a raise this year. The Conference Board said Tuesday that the number of consumers expecting their incomes to grow dropped from nearly 20 percent in the January poll to 15.1 percent in February.

The New York-based research group’s closely watched Consumer Confidence Index showed an overall decline in consumer opinion about the country’s economic conditions. The index declined to 96.4 in February, down from January’s 103.8. Consumer sentiment remains at levels seen before the Great Recession, but the latest survey shows a spike in cynicism about the job market.   Continue reading “US Consumer Sentiment Declines As Fewer Workers Expect Incomes To Rise In Coming Months”

(ANTIMEDIA) Mosul, Iraq – Whether through nefarious planning or just plain incompetence, it seems as though the Western powers have no interest in a defeated Islamic State. The battle in Iraq caused by years of failed foreign policy rages, and the West seems to only be concerned with public relations activities.

The Kurds are literally begging for supplies to fight the Islamic radicals. In an amazing interview with The Guardian, Captain Ibrahim expressed his surprise at being abandoned by the West.   Continue reading “Mounting Evidence Shows US Does Not Want Islamic State Defeated”

Corporation Get Out of Jail Free CardOther Words – by Jim Hightower

“Do the crime, do the time,” goes the old saying.

Unless, of course, the criminals are corporate executives. In those cases, the culprits are practically always given a “Get Out of Jail Free” card.

Even the corporate crimes that produce horrible injuries, illnesses, and deaths are routinely settled by fines and payoffs. There’s often no punishment at all for the honchos who oversee what amount to crime-for-profit syndicates.   Continue reading “An Escape Hatch for Corporate Cons”

The Fourth Amendment was designed to stand between us and arbitrary governmental authority. For all practical purposes, that shield has been shattered, leaving our liberty and personal integrity subject to the whim of every cop on the beat, trooper on the highway and jail official. The framers would be appalled.”—Herman Schwartz, The Nation

Our freedoms—especially the Fourth Amendment—are being choked out by a prevailing view among government bureaucrats that they have the right to search, seize, strip, scan, spy on, probe, pat down, taser, and arrest any individual atany time and for the slightestprovocation.

Though a federal court has blocked President Obama’s amnesty order the administration continues working behind the scenes to quickly award multi-million-dollar contracts to firms that can expeditiously process millions of illegal immigrants, a government source has alerted Judicial Watch.

The complex deal is being rushed through at a “full-throttle pace” extremely rare for such a huge venture  that’s sure to radically change the current system, according to JW’s source, who has worked for decades as a contract expert at the highest levels of government.   Continue reading “What Court Order?
