A Pennsylvania town has banned trick-or-treating this year while hundreds of cops search nearby woods for accused cop killer Eric Frein.

The Barrett Township said its annual Halloween parade and 5K Scarecrow Race are canceled indefinitely, and trick-or-treating is banned this year, as the dragnet for Frein is now in its fourth week. It must have been a terrifying night for a Baton Rouge, LA homeowner who awoke to a man in his bedroom armed with a gun.

According to NOLA.com,

The resident on the 3000 block of Greenwell Street was asleep at about 11:20 a.m. Monday when he woke up, hearing someone breaking into his house. Ann Romney ruled out another White House bid by her husband, Mitt Romney, even as the two-time presidential candidate remains coy on another run.

“Done, completely. Not only Mitt and I are done, but the kids are done. Done. Done. Done,” the former Massachusetts first lady told the Los Angeles Times.

The North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who had not been in public for 40 days, fuelling unprecedented speculation over his general health and grip on power, has emerged, according to a state news agency.

North Korea’s official news agency KCNA said their leader “gave field guidance” to the newly built Wisong Scientists Residential District, and visited the Natural Energy Institute of the State Academy of Sciences in Pyongyang. Russia’s Ministry of Defense is planning to form Army Reserve units comprised of experienced volunteers, who will regularly undergo military training and at any moment will be ready to take arms to defend their country, Izvestia reports.

Generalised statistics on foreign exchange reserves around the world are no secret, but are published extremely rarely. The main sources of such statistical information are the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and the most recent figures were published at the end of the first quarter of 2014. The total amount of foreign exchange reserves held by all IMF member countries at that time stood at $11.86 trillion. This is approximately equal to 70 per cent of US gross domestic product (GDP) for 2013. According to the IMF, the global gross domestic product in 2013 (calculated on the basis of purchasing power parity) stood at $74 trillion.
