This week, the Senate voted on and debated a proposed constitutional amendment that would give Congress and the states nearly unlimited power to regulate election spending. The 79-18 vote was only a cloture vote to advance the resolution to the floor, and the proposed amendment stands almost no chance of passing the high hurdle needed to become part of our Constitution–that is, a two-thirds vote from both houses of Congress and ratification by three-fourths (38) of the state legislatures.

Yet, even despite the resolution’s poor political prospects, there is one word to best describe it: Terrifying. Even though this resolution can be properly classified as a political stunt, and even though some Senators (including some Republicans) only voted for it just to score political points, it is terrifying that this proposed amendment can even score political points.   Continue reading “Terrifying Senate Democrats Vote to Give Political Speech Less Protection than Pornography”

A blood boiling video of a Covina, CA police officer, K. Counts, was recently uploaded to youtube by Damon Enz. In the video officer Counts proceeds to trample Enz’s rights demanding that he answer questions.

“Honestly, I am going to detain you if you do not answer my questions,” says officer Counts. Apparently officer Counts swore an oath to an abridged version of the Constitution, which does not contain the 5th Amendment right of the citizen to remain silent.   Continue reading “Attention Police Officers, This is How NOT to React to a Person Filming on a Public”

Yesterday, when Gazprom was supposedly “troubleshooting its systems”, we reported that in what was the first salvo of Europe’s latest cold (quite literally, with winter just around the corner) war, Poland complained that up to 25% of its usual gas deliveries from Russia had been cut. Russia indirectly hinted that this was also a result of Ukraine using “reverse flow” to meet its demands, with Europe allowing Kiev to syphon off whatever gas it needs without paying Gazprome for it. It also led Poland to promptly admit it would halt reverse flow to the civil-war ridden country. Fast forward to today when Polish financial website Biznes reports that things are going from bad to worse in Russia’s energy retaliation war, after Poland claimed a 45% shortfall in Russian natgas imports as of Wednesday.   Continue reading “Poland Says Russian Gas Deliveries Tumble By 45%; Europe To Launch Sanctions On Friday, Russia Will Retaliate”

The notion that certain rights are guaranteed to citizens is being proven false every day. For instance, you have the First Amendment right to film police officers and other public officials, but it often takes an official policy change (usually prompted by lawsuits) before these public servants will begrudgingly respect that right.

You also have certain rights guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment, but even these aren’t innate. You can’t simply remain silent while detained or arrested. You have to invoke these rights (often repeatedly) or risk having your silence (things you didn’t say) used against you.    Continue reading “Cop To Cameraman: ‘If You’re Invoking Your Rights, You Must Be Doing Something Wrong’”

A former Atlanta police officer was indicted for allegedly beating a man so badly the man's lung collapsed and he suffered three broken ribs, according to the district attorney's office.Examiner – by Kimathi Lewis

A former Atlanta police officer was indicted Wednesday for allegedly beating a man so badly that the man suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung. And officials said the same officer was accused of another assault a year later.

Nicholas J. Dimauro was indicted for two counts of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and two counts of violation of oath by a police officer, according to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said in 2010 Robert Wormley was returning to his home on Woods Drive in Atlanta around 3 a.m. when he was approached by Officer Dimauro.   Continue reading “Former APD cop indicted for allegedly beating man so badly his lung collapsed”

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday ordered military forces in the country’s east to carry out a major exercise to test their preparedness.

This is a second major drill of combat readiness since June when the conflict in eastern Ukraine was already raging. That drill in the Volga region and the Urals involved 65,000 troops. In May, Russia and China held a joint naval exercise in the East China Sea.   Continue reading “Putin Orders Forces in the East on Combat Drill”

Beijing (AFP) – China and Russia will build one of the largest ports in northeast Asia on Russia’s Sea of Japan coast, reports said, in a further sign of the powerhouses’ growing alliance.

The seaport is expected to be able to handle some 60 million tonnes of cargo a year, China’s state-run People’s Daily Online reported late Wednesday — comparable to Britain’s busiest port Immingham or Le Havre in France, according to European Commission statistics.   Continue reading “China, Russia to build seaport: report”

You’ll recall one member of Barack Obama’s Sharia and Homeland Security advisors Mohamed Elibiary from past articles here at Freedom Outpost. Elibiary not only claimed that America is an Islamic country with an Islamically compliant constitution and believes that Islam is the antidote to terrorism. Last week, amid the claims that a terrorist threat was likely on the US-Mexican border by ISIS, the Islamic imam resigned his post as Homeland Security advisor to head down south to… Texas. The timing could not be more suspect.   Continue reading “Obama’s Pro-Muslim Brotherhood Homeland Security Advisor Resigns – Heads to Texas”

While many assume wrongly that when we post articles against Islam or informing the public about what Islamists are advancing in or against the US we are pushing a spirit of fear, we are not. We simply put out the information so that people can be aware and alert as to what is going on and respond appropriately. Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter has done just that. He’s heard the information and now he has a message for members of ISIS who wish to cross our borders and engage in terrorism: We’ll send you to hell.   Continue reading “Texas Sheriff to ISIS: Rear Your Head Here & We’ll Send You to Hell”

So far, Jeh Johnson has managed to largely stay out of the spotlight and avoid much of the hate showered on his predecessor Big Sis Janet Napolitano. One example is right there, in the fact that no one really refers to Jeh as Big Bro Johnson, which is good, because it sounds like a really bad porno name.

But I digress…

Yesterday, the Washington Times reported that Homeland Security is going to release a brand new, shiny guidance list to retailers this week (just in time for another 9/11!) which will “train” them on how to watch for suspected terrorists in their stores, i.e. — anyone who buys a bunch of stuff from what Mr. Johnson says is a “long list of materials that could be used as explosive precursors.”   Continue reading “See Something Snitch Something Is Back: DHS to Release New Guidelines for Stores to Watch Shoppers”

Obama’s speech on September 10, 2014 has to be challenged. It cannot stand unexamined because it is a recipe for disaster and destruction. Let me first list the lies before explaining a simple way out of his prescription for war without end.

1) He claims he killed Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011. No He did not. Osama had two terminal illnesses and died in December of 2001. The Bush admin and the Israelis made Osama videos after 2001 in which the actor playing Osama’s role looked nothing like the real man. The controlled media never asked questions. The alternative media does because we have higher standards.   Continue reading “12 Obama Lies and Obfuscations. Uncovering His Plans For War Without End”

The U.S. economy has seen a steady erosion of jobs in the motion picture and sound industries, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Preliminary statistics from the BLS show that employment in those two industries has dropped to 298,000 in August — marking the first time in the past decade that the number has dropped below 300,000, and representing an 8% decline from 324,600 jobs in August 2013, and a 19% slide from 366,300 jobs in August 2012.   Continue reading “Showbiz, Music Industry Jobs Drop 19% in Two Years”

Sen. Ted Cruz was booed offstage at a conference for Middle Eastern Christians Wednesday night after saying that “Christians have no greater ally than Israel.”

Cruz, the keynote speaker at the sold-out D.C. dinner gala for the recently-founded non-profit In Defense of Christians, began by saying that “tonight, we are all united in defense of Christians. Tonight, we are all united in defense of Jews. Tonight, we are all united in defense of people of good faith, who are standing together against those who would persecute and murder those who dare disagree with their religious teachings.”   Continue reading “Ted Cruz Booed Off Stage At Middle East Christian Conference”

Ever try to read your physician’s prescriptions? Children increasingly print their writing because they don’t know cursive or theirs is unreadable. I have a middle-school grandson who has trouble reading his own cursive. Grandparents may find that their grandchildren can’t read the notes they send. Our new U.S. Secretary of the Treasury can’t (or won’t) write his own name on the new money being printed.

When we adults went to school, one of the first things we learned was how to write the alphabet, in caps and lower case, and then to hand-write words, sentences, paragraphs, and essays. Some of us were lucky enough to have penmanship class where we learned how to make our writing pretty and readable. Today, keyboarding is in, the Common Core Standards no longer require elementary students to learn cursive, and some schools are dropping the teaching of cursive, dismissing it as an “ancient skill.”[1]     Continue reading “What learning cursive does for your brain”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Opening a new military front in the Middle East, President Barack Obama authorized U.S. airstrikes inside Syria for the first time Wednesday night, along with expanded strikes in Iraq as part of “a steady, relentless effort” to root out Islamic State extremists and their spreading reign of terror.

“We will hunt down terrorists who threaten our country, wherever they are,” Obama declared in a prime-time address to the nation from the White House. “This is a core principle of my presidency: If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven.”   Continue reading “Obama to deepen America’s military role in Mideast”

It is unfortunate that articles like this have to be written,
