Greenville County Sheriff Office officials say a deputy seen on video punching a man inside Walmart during an arrest has been put on administrative leave and an internal investigation is underway.
The incident happened on Saturday at the store on White Horse Road.

From the moment Los Angeles police handcuffed him, Jorge Azucena told officers he needed help.
“I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe,” he pleaded. “I have asthma, I have asthma.”
In the half-hour or so after his arrest late one night last September, Azucena said over and over that he was struggling for breath. Numerous LAPD officers and sergeants heard his pleas for medical attention but ignored them even as his condition visibly worsened.

Following the shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown by Police Officer Darren Wilson, on Saturday, August 9, the city of Ferguson, Missouri has been filled with chaos. Public demonstrations protesting Brown’s death have been ongoing, and the local law enforcement in Ferguson has responded with military-level equipment.

FORT LEE, Va. — An “all clear” has been issued at Fort Lee in Virginia after an earlier “active shooter incident” at the Army base, according to multiple reports.
Fort Lee issued a statement on social media on Monday morning:
“An active shooter incident has been reported on Fort Lee at CASCOM HQ, Bldg. 5020. All personnel should enact active shooter protocols immediately. The installation is being locked down until further notice. More info to follow.”
Federal authorities have failed to protect pipeline rights-of-way from becoming pathways for illegal immigration and cartel activity that endangers pipeline inspectors, oilfield workers and ranchers, a top state regulator charged Friday.

Are police officers getting worse or is this apparent increase in excessive force nothing more than a reflection of the increase in unofficial documentation (read: cameras) and public scrutiny? What we do know is that as crime has gone down, police forces have escalated their acquisitions of military gear and weapons. The British jihadist suspected of murdering American journalist James Foley has been identified, the Sunday Times reports. Government sources said that security agencies MI5 and MI6 have worked out the identity of the masked fighter, who is said to be known as “Jihadi John” to fellow Islamists, although they have so far declined to give the man’s identity.
Despite their reluctance to announce the killer’s identity, one key suspect is 23-year-old Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, who previously lived with his family in their £1 million home in London’s wealthy Maida Vale district. There’s a large orchard just down the road from me, where I buy “seconds” for canning. However, their seconds are about a kabillion times better than the hard, tasteless orbs you pick up at the grocery store, and they aren’t doused in pesticides and then sprayed with preservatives.

Iran has shot down an Israeli spy drone trying to penetrate the “nuclear off-limits area” of the Natanz nuclear site, the Revolutionary Guards said on their website.
“The downed aircraft was of the stealth, radar-evasive type and it intended to penetrate the off-limit nuclear area in Natanz… but was targeted by a ground-to-air missile before it managed to enter the area,” Reuters quotes the statement by the Revolutionary Guards.
