LOS ANGELES — Thousands of protesters marched through downtown LA on Sunday afternoon to demand justice for Ezell Ford, the 25-year-old black man who was shot and killed by two police officers while walking down the street near his home on Aug. 11.

Although the protest had been planned and publicized for 3 p.m., a group had already gathered outside the Los Angeles Police Department headquarters around 2:30. Many present carried signs calling for an end to police brutality and justice for Ezell Ford and other unarmed civilians killed by police officers. FERGUSON, Missouri (CNN) – The Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed Michael Brown says the teenager rushed at him full speed in the moments before the shooting, according to an account phoned into a St. Louis radio station and confirmed as accurate by a source with detailed knowledge of the investigation.

The shots of a Boeing Dreamliner were captured by Sebastien Lebrigand, 39, from the back garden in his home in Crepy-en-Valois, near Paris.

Officials in Georgia’s Habersham County are refusing to pay for the mounting medical expenses of a toddler seriously injured by a flash grenade after a failed SWAT team raid earlier this year.

Bounkham ‘Bou Bou’ Phonesavanh was just 19 months old when a Habersham SWAT team initiated a no-knock warrant at his family’s home at around 3 a.m. on May 28. Bou Bou was asleep in his crib at the time, surrounded by his family and three sisters. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Some people don’t think an air sickness bag is enough.

A passenger on an August 5th Delta flight from Akron, Ohio to Orlando was apparently kicked off simply because she looked sick.

Syrian government forces carried out airstrikes against the Islamic State, killing at least 31 jihadists on Sunday. The moderate rebels are calling for US strikes, as in neighboring Iraq, saying the regime is not fighting the Islamic State hard enough.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. –  A 15-year-old boy arrested Sunday on suspicion of posting online threats to shoot students at Southern California schools apparently did so as a prank, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.

The new Army manual, known as ATP 3-39.33, provides discussion and techniques about civil disturbances and crowd control operations that occur in the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).

This document, just published this past Friday, August 15, 2014, promises to change the way the “authorities” deal with protesters, even peaceful ones. The consequences of ATP 39.33 could prove deadly for protesters.
