Huffington Post – by Matt Sledge

NEW YORK — While mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg sent his police force after guns on the streets, launched sting operations against gun shows, and pumped millions of dollars of his own money into defeating gun control opponents at the polls.

His name is now uttered as a curse on right-wing talk radio. But Democratic mayoral nominee Bill de Blasio told HuffPost in an interview Friday that Bloomberg’s laudable approach on gun control was ultimately hampered by his politics.   Continue reading “Bill De Blasio: Bloomberg Didn’t Go Far Enough On Gun Control”

First let’s be clear with the term apoptotic: It refers to apoptosis, the programmed activity of a cell’s self destruction or suicide that is common with normal cells to make way for new replacement cells.

The problem with cancer cells is that they refuse to commit suicide; they’re not programmed that way. So they either have to be killed by chemotoxic agents (synthetic or natural) or induced into programmed apoptosis.

The research summarized here examined chlorella’s ability to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. The type of chlorella used for this study was Chlorella vulgaris extract, or CVE, extracted using hot water. [1]   Continue reading “Research suggests chlorella may have apoptotic anticancer effects”

What do you get for the man who has everything? A little more of it, apparently. Today, Mayor Michael Bloomberg will receive the Genesis Philanthropy Group’s inaugural Genesis Prize (so next year’s won’t be called the Exodus Prize) and the $1 million that comes with it. He is so honored for his “track record of outstanding public service and his role as one of the world’s greatest philanthropists,” according to the Group, which was founded by three Russian-Jewish billionaires to, in the words of chairman Alex Knaster, “inspire others to act to strengthen and preserve the Jewish community throughout the world.” The group hopes the award will eventually come to be known as the Jewish Nobel Prize, though it’s worth noting that one-fifth of Nobel Prize winners have been JewsContinue reading “Michael Bloomberg Just Won More Money Than You’ll Make in a Decade”

As has been stated before, all medical and non-medical authorities on vaccination agree that vaccines are designed to cause a mild case of the diseases they are supposed to prevent. But they also know and admit that there is no way whatsoever to predict whether the case will be mild or severe – even deadly. With this much uncertainty in dealing with the very lives of people, it is very unscientific and extremely dangerous to use such a questionable procedure as vaccination.   Continue reading “The Spanish Influenza Epidemic Of 1918 Was Caused By Vaccinations”

A “diplomatic embarrassment” has arisen following the refusal of Pope Francis I to meet with Israel’s prime minister at short notice. Benjamin Netanyahu’s office had already announced that a meeting would take place during his visit to Italy, reported Haaretz, but the pope has no plans in this regard.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met the Pope during his recent visit to Rome where he received a pen as a gift, with the wish that he will use it to sign a peace agreement with Israel.   Continue reading “Pope Francis will not meet with Netanyahu”

Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearms-Related ViolenceAmmoLand – by Wayne LaPierre

FAIRFAX, Va. –-(Ammoland.com)- With the stroke of his royal pen, President Barack Obama declared that federal law in the form of a 17-year congressional funding ban on gun-control “research” at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) was trumped by his personal decree through an executive order restoring the CDC’s junk-science agenda.

Were I to choose a single word to define this action, it would be “outlaw.” The law forbidding expenditures by CDC to promote gun control still stands. It cannot be erased by an executive order. But this is President Obama, his rule and his rules.   Continue reading “Junk Science Drives Obama Administration’s Gun Policies”

Houston, TX – -(Ammoland.com)- Gun-rights advocates would never use the day of a tragedy as a cause for annual celebration but that’s precisely what anti-rights forces in this country are thinking of doing to do at year’s end, we learned at the Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) which wrapped up in Houston late last month.

Using money from billionaire New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, who is rapidly becoming one of the greatest threats the Bill of Rights faces in America, states nationwide, along with the Obama administration, will hold events staged to use the death of innocent victims in Newtown, Conn., to call for infringements on the Second Amendment.   Continue reading “National Gun-Rights Attack To Be Met Head On By Activists”

Billionaire anti-gun New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg spends a lot more than the NRA.Examiner – by Dave Workman

There was considerable ballyhoo in yesterday’s Roll Call story about how much the National Rifle Association has spent in the Virginia governor’s race, but the bigger bucks are being spent by billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s super-PAC, according to Politico.

The soon-to-be ex-mayor will reportedly dump $1.1 million into the race to help perennial anti-gunner Terry McAuliffe – a Bill and Hillary Clinton loyalist – to defeat Republican Ken Cuccinelli, who has complained about the “out-of-state” money being spent in this campaign. That’s something Washington gun owners better take note of, because when Bloomberg leaves office at the end of the year, he’s going to be free to do other things, and he has already made it clear that influencing political campaigns to further his gun control agenda is his top priority.   Continue reading “Bloomberg a bigger spender than the NRA”

Americans are slowly waking up to the sad fact that much of the food sold in the US is far inferior to the same foods sold in other nations. In fact, many of the foods you eat are BANNED in other countries.

Here, I’ll review 10 American foods that are banned elsewhere, which were featured in a recent MSN article.1   Continue reading “10 American Foods that are Banned in Other Countries”

You have been robbing us blind for years. You have not done our business in many years. Now you say you are going to shut down congress and fly to Florida for a funeral? What gives you the right to stop working for a day and fly to Florida on MY TAX DOLLARS and attend a funeral?

Where in the Constitution does it allow you to do this? It doesn’t. Yet you have the gall to email me and ask for campaign money to keep you in DC to steal more of my money.   Continue reading “To the Thieves in DC”

nuclear blast door left openHuffington Post – by Robert Burns

WASHINGTON (AP) — Air Force officials tell The Associated Press that twice this year, officers entrusted with the launch keys to nuclear-tipped missiles have been caught leaving open a blast door. That door is intended to help prevent a terrorist or other intruder from entering the officers’ underground command post and potentially compromising secret launch codes.   Continue reading “Officers In Charge Of Nuclear Missiles Left Blast Door Open: Air Force Officials”

One of the cool things about the Bible is that it contains some very interesting passages that no one seems to read.

Understand, please, that I’m neither promoting a literal interpretation of the Bible nor giving you a sermon. I’m just pointing out a fascinating fact that most everyone seems to have missed, religious folks included.   Continue reading “The Road to Hell Is Paved…With Fear”

Naked Capitalism

Readers have often been using the term “neofeudalism” to describe the outlines of the new economic order, in which the uber wealthy and a thin cadre of their advisors, managers, and other elite professionals do well, with a network of less lofty managers helping oversee and orchestrate the provision of services to the broad base of the public, and they struggle to eke out a meager existence.

Debt appears to be the “one ring that rules them all” of this emerging order. And if that is the case, it’s likely to be much more like the old sharecropper system of the post Civil War era, where poor whites and blacks were kept on a debt treadmill that turned them into slaves in all but name. As Matt Stoller wrote in 2010:   Continue reading “The Rise of an American Debtcropper System for the Young”

Counter Punch – by ZIAD ABBAS

Although I have been living far from Palestine for a few years and I am now in my forties, I still have nightmares about the Israeli army invading my house when I was a child and about the first time I was tortured. This is the reality most Palestinian former prisoners live with for the rest of our lives.

When I was a child, friends my age who were arrested before me said they “saw the stars at noon.” This was a saying we had. You can’t see the stars at noon when the sun is shining. But when children are under torture, especially when they are beaten in the head, they see a flash, even when they are blindfolded. This is what we called seeing the stars at noon.   Continue reading “Torturing and Jailing Palestinian Children”

Nunez Report

In his four-day trip to Tehran, Russian Air Force Chief Gen. Viktor Bondarev and his hosts, Brig. Gen. Hassan Shasafi and other senior Iranian military chiefs, laid the groundwork for a series of agreements to upgrade their military ties to a level unprecedented in their past relations. DEBKAfile’s military and Iranian sources report that Iran is deliberately accentuating those ties as a message to the Western powers that if they give the Islamic Republic a hard time over its nuclear program, it will go all the way to a full-dress defense pact with Russia.   Continue reading “Russia and Iran expanding military cooperation and arms trade”
