Mount Aso, Japan’s largest active volcano, erupted on Monday, sending plumes of smoke 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) into the air and prompting tourist evacuations, Japan’s Meteorological Agency said.

A harrowing video of a man punching an old woman in face at a supermarket in the Russian city of Syzran has prompted a quick reaction from an Investigative Committee. The woman was decked with one blow and is said to have suffered an injury to the jaw.

HOUSTON, Texas – A thin blue line of police supporters stretched for over a mile along a Texas highway on Saturday as over 8,000 Texans took to the streets. The marchers gathered in the #PoliceLivesMatter parade in memory of murdered Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Goforth and in support of all police.

Those who serve in the military are in a difficult position. The oath taken by enlistees states, “I, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.” The internal conflict between supporting and defending the Constitution and obeying orders is at the heart of the dilemma of honor and duty. Those who accept that the Presidential chain of command is by nature constitutional; lack a proper understanding of history and professes an even greater ignorance of current affairs.Ever since Congress abrogated their lawful war power authority to declare war, the military industrial complex has embarked on a path of global empire. The consequences of such un-American internationalist imperialism have turned the country into a hollow shell of a once great nation. NeoCons and their liberal cousin counterparts champion perpetual interventionism and continuous oversea deployment, deny this stark reality. SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Justice announced the indictment of Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah Friday.
The Klamath County Grand Jury charged Sheriff Skrah with a total of nine counts, including three counts of harassment, three counts of official misconduct in the first degree, one count of attempted assault in the fourth degree, one count of assault in the fourth degree and one count of strangulation. The Greek Coast Guard and customs intercepted an aid container for “refugees” (who are almost all male and of fighting age) that was filled with weapons and ammunition.
It appears that this was only reported on by local Greek news and has not been covered anywhere else. Hmm, I wonder why.
As the container, loaded on the freighter ship Haddad 1, a Bolivian-registered vessel, arrived in Heraklion, Crete, one of Greece’s largest island, a very popular resort island for sunbathing tourists, and currently temporary home to numerous refugees and migrants, customs inspected the cargo. On Thursday evening, we chronicled the latest in the drama that is Syria’s horrific civil war, noting that,according to an Israeli defense source, “hundreds” of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are on the ground in Syria fighting alongside the Russians to support Bashar al-Assad’s depleted forces as they battle to regain control of the country.
If true, that would answer the following question which we’ve been asking for quite some time: will Iran remain on the sidelines and allow the Houthis to be routed in Yemen and Assad deposed in Syria, or will Tehran, like Moscow, finally decide that the time for rhetoric has come to an end?
