Yesterday afternoon, the AP reported that “The White House confirms that President Donald Trump will sign a bill averting a potential partial government shutdown at the end of the week.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that she may file a legal challenge against President Trump if he declares a national emergency in order to build a southern border wall. She added that if he does this, a Democratic president could declare a national emergency to address gun violence in America.

Chicago, IL — After nearly 4 years, last October, former Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke was found guilty of 2nd degree murder and 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm after shooting and killing 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. In January, he was sentenced to just 6 years and 9 months in prison.
