Fifteen-year-old Damon Grimes was not the first young man on an ATV to land in the cross hairs of Michigan State Police Trooper Mark Bessner’s Taser.
Six weeks before Grimes crashed and died after being tased, Forrest Harvey III encountered Bessner in Detroit near 7 Mile and Hoover. Bessner emerged from his patrol car, ordered Harvey to raise his hands and then shot him with a Taser about 1 second later. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Arizona police are pushing back on claims from a veterans group that a homeless encampment uncovered in Tucson last week was the site of a child sex-trafficking operation.
The allegations from Veterans on Patrol, a group that works to assist homeless vets, have been widely circulating on social media since the living space was found off Interstate 19 on May 29. California has become the first state to pass a law severely limiting the amount of water residents can use on a daily basis, and while politicians claim that the restrictions will be enforced in the name of conserving water, Nestlé is illegally stealing millions of gallons of water each year and the state is doing nothing to stop it.
Gov. Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 606 and Assembly Bill 1668 into law, both of which set new standards for “water management planning.” The restrictions will fully take effect by 2022, limiting residents to 55 gallons of water per person, per day. Officers in the Virginia State Police probably couldn’t believe their ears when they received the call – a tank-like military vehicle had been spotted speeding down an interstate highway.

Detroit, OR — Disturbing video captured a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy repeatedly punching a homeless mentally ill man in the face on Monday. The video has since sparked outrage in the community and, according to police, an internal review.
According to police, the homeless man had walked up to an area police had cordoned off while coordinating a search for a missing 67-year-old man and his 40-year-old son.
