Psychology Today – by Christopher Lane, Ph.D.

Just two weeks before DSM-5 is due to appear, the National Institute of Mental Health, the world’s largest mental health research institute, has announced that it is withdrawing support for the manual.

In a humiliating blow to the American Psychiatric Association, Thomas R. Insel, M.D., Director of the NIMH, made clear the agency would no longer fund research projects that rely exclusively on DSM criteria. Henceforth, the NIMH, which had thrown its weight and funding behind earlier editions of the manual, would be “re-orienting its research away from DSM categories.” “The weakness” of the manual, he explained in a sharply worded statement, “is its lack of validity.” “Unlike our definitions of ischemic heart disease, lymphoma, or AIDS, the DSM diagnoses are based on a consensus about clusters of clinical symptoms, not any objective laboratory measure.”   Continue reading “The NIMH Withdraws Support for DSM-5”

Russian strategic bombers conducted flights within the U.S. defense zone close to northern Alaska and the Aleutian Islands last week in Moscow’s latest incident of nuclear saber rattling against the United States, according to defense and military officials.

Two Bear H nuclear-capable bombers were detected flying into the military’s Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) near the Aleutians, where a strategic missile defense radar is located, and Alaska’s North Slope region by the Arctic and Chukchi Seas on April 28 and 29, military officials told theWashington Free Beacon.   Continue reading “Bears Buzz Alaska Again”

Last week in Mexico, the traitor Obama indicated that he was open to using an unconstitutional executive order to enact universal background checks, because this is something that the Mexican government wants.  Another thing being discussed during the trip was US immigration law, and of course the American chief executive would be working towards the goals set forth by his Mexican constituents. Treason has become so commonplace that it barely raises an eyebrow anymore.

Meanwhile, to the issue of Syria: the Israelis, being true to their form, have again attacked Syria in an offensive operation, as headlines in the US seek to predict what extent the US involvement will be in this foreign war against a country that has not attacked the US – Zionist empire building by any other name.    Continue reading “The United States – for Anyone but an American”

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby Boomers” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time.

We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together.   Continue reading “I don’t think we’re in America anymore Toto?”

The Senate on Monday is poised to pass an Internet sales tax bill with strong bipartisan support, in spite of opposition from traditionally influential conservative groups and weak public backing.

The Marketplace Fairness Act, which easily cleared a set of procedural Senate votes in recent weeks, wouldn’t technically impose any new taxes. Instead, it would give state governments the ability to collect Internet sales taxes from businesses headquartered outside of their respective state borders — taxes that are technically already owed. Consumers are expected to declare those taxes on their state income tax returns but often don’t.   Continue reading “The Senate Looks Poised To Pass New Internet Sales Tax”

Consultants at Deloitte expected 9 percent of companies to drop coverage, while Mercer’s estimate was 21 percent. The Congressional Budget Office, which provided the official projection of the law’s cost, was much lower. If there’s an exodus from employer health plans and those workers end up in the Obamacare exchanges, the program’s cost will explode.   Continue reading “Obamacare Shock: 9-21% of Americans to LOSE coverage”

Erected in Elbert County, Georgia March 22, 1980, this enigmatic granite monument (sometimes referred to as the American Stonehenge) was instantly the centre of numerous conspiracy theories. Who built it? Why? And what do the guides on the stones actually mean? The Canadian Emmy-award winning series, Guidestones, explores the conspiracy surrounding the monument.

There are ten lofty guides or commandments inscribed on the stones in eight different languages. The first reads “Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature”. This is interpreted as evidence of an impending apocalypse orchestrated by such secret societies as the Freemasons, the Illuminati, the Bilderburg Group, the Rosicrucians, or some other elitist organization. As such the Georgia Guidestones are frequently considered to be a sinister warning and should be regarded with suspicion and fear.   Continue reading “Georgia Guidestones: The Conspiracy that Inspired the Emmy-Award Winning Series”

The comprehensive immigration overhaul being taken up in the Senate this week could cost taxpayers $6.3 trillion if 11 million illegal immigrants are granted legal status, according to a long-awaited estimate by the conservative Heritage Foundation.

The cost would arise from illegal immigrants tapping into the government’s vast network of benefits and services, many of which are currently unavailable to them. This includes everything from standard benefits like Social Security and Medicare to dozens of welfare programs ranging from housing assistance to food stamps.    Continue reading “Study pegs cost of immigration bill’s mass legalization at $6.3 trillion”

President Obama gave the commencement address at Ohio State University yesterday, May 5.  He took that opportunity to try and get a message across to the new graduates:

Unfortunately, you’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They’ll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.   Continue reading “Damage Control? The reasoning behind recent US-Israeli attacks on Syria has been undermined further as the UN reveals Western-backed terrorists, not the Syrian government, deployed sarin gas during the 2 year conflict. It’s seems counterintuitive, to say the least. Indeed, it seems quite mad. And yet we now have all the evidence we need to point to a de facto Israeli alliance with Al Qaeda. The bombing of Damascus suburbs by Israeli jets – purportedly in order to prevent the Syrians from supplying Hezbollah with long range missiles – at precisely the moment when the Syrian “rebels” are demanding Western intervention on their behalf highlights one of the most bizarre alliances in history.   Continue reading “The Israeli-Jihadist Alliance”
