Lincoln, Neb., Aug. 31.–The Woman’s Christian temperance union of Nebraska has determined to have arms removed from the high school cadets of the public schools. The ladies declare the young men of the state should be taught peaceful methods, such as arbitration, etc. The women arranged for a vigorous campaign to be conducted on these lines. A respectful, disciplined cop, who doesn’t trample the rights of individuals, is a great asset to any society. What happens, though, when police training goes from respecting the rights of citizens and morphs into utter apathy towards people? Here’s what happens: law abiding people are taken from their homes and vehicles and are detained. Officers begin to use fake evidence to conduct false arrests just to get information or money, or to fulfill their own power trip. Innocent people spend time behind bars. Glaring evidence of this is noted in the recent arrest of Miss USA Westchester beauty Queen pageant winner Kristy Abreu. Images analysed by experts at IHS Jane’s Intelligence Review has revealed a hitherto undisclosed surface-to-surface missile base deep in the Saudi desert, with capabilities for hitting both countries.
Analysts who examined the photos spotted two launch pads with markings pointing north-west towards Tel Aviv and north-east towards Tehran. They are designed for Saudi Arabia’s arsenal of lorry-launched DF 3 missiles, which have a range of 1,500-2,500 miles and can carry a two-ton payload. (Times of Israel) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly to launch a new, last-ditch effort in the next few days to persuade the United States to credibly revive the military option against Iran.
If this proves unsuccessful, Channel 2 reported, Netanyahu will have to decide whether to launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities by this winter at latest, because after that, the report indicated, the assessment is that Israel’s window for military intervention will close. This essay by criminologist Gary Kleck is a must read reference for anyone involved in the citizen disarmament (gun control) debate. While it is a bit dated, as crime rates have been cut in half since it was written, 80 million more firearms have been added to the civilian American stockpile, and concealed carry permits have likely tripled or quadrupled, it is still highly informative and useful. The claim by Whitehall that it is predominately aimed at porn sites and especially child porn to prevent also and especially children accessing such materials does not hold water as, first of all, accessing child porn is a crime and secondly that no one can believe anymore what they say.

The Israeli military has test-fired a new long-range ballistic missile reportedly capable of carrying a nuclear, chemical or biological warhead.

The loss of a single aircraft is relatively easy to sweep under the rug, but a major engagement would see the planes raining down like they did in 1973, though a complete media lock down kept that information from becoming common knowledge.
Israel announced on July 8 that one of their F-16s suffered a mechanical failure off the coast of Gaza. A military spokesman for the Israeli Air Force (IAF) said both pilots were recovered.
