Gun Ban LobbyAmmoLand

NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)- Despite overwhelming public opposition, the Pleasant Hill City Council this past week approved amending a city zoning ordinance banning where law-abiding, federally licensed firearms and ammunition retailers can operate.

In passing the anti-gun zoning changes, the City Council defied Pleasant Hill’s own Planning Commission, which a month earlier voted unanimously against adopting any new zoning restrictions designed to put FFLs out of business.   Continue reading “Pleasant Hill, Calif. Firearms TrainingAmmoLand – by David Cole

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- Everybody should be properly trained if they intend to use a gun for self-defense, right? No argument here. But should it be mandated by the government?

I say no. Emphatically!

“But Dave,” you might point out, “You are a firearms trainer. Clearly you believe in the importance of training.” And you’d be right. Proper and continued training enhances safety, physical skill and mindset, and mitigates legal risk. These are all good things.   Continue reading “Mandatory Firearms Training? – What if We Had Mandatory Free Speech Training”

Guns ‘n’ Freedom, August 22, 2013

In 1996 Australia unloaded some of the most severe gun bans and gun confiscation programs on record.  And for the guns that were not confiscated gun owners were forced to enter into license agreements and have their guns registered so the government knew what guns everyone had.

Well, they really only knew what guns the law abiding had, since none of the criminals actually followed the program.  Fancy that.   Continue reading “17 Years After Gun Bans in Australia …Police Say Gun Crime is Out of Control”

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — For years, just enough hardcore classic car lovers and curious travelers wandered through the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky to keep the doors open. Now, after a massive sinkhole swallowed eight pristine models of vintage muscle, attendance has skyrocketed.

And visitors are as eager to peer into the chasm as they are to see the ‘Vettes, if not more so. “The response to this has been bigger than anyone could have ever imagined,” said Katie Frassinelli, a spokeswoman for the museum that sits just off Interstate 65 in Bowling Green. “On the one hand, we don’t want to be known as the sinkhole museum. But on the other hand, it’s bringing a lot of people that may not have otherwise come.”   Continue reading “Gearheads, gawkers drawn to ‘Vette museum sinkhole”

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Even as Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the nation’s official flag in 1777, another American banner was making history on Revolutionary War battlefields.

The plain blue standard with 13 white, six-pointed stars traveled with George Washington to denote his presence as commander in chief of the Continental Army. This month, conservators finished preserving the fragile and faded silk banner — but it won’t be seen publicly anytime soon. It’s one of thousands of objects waiting for a permanent home at the Museum of the American Revolution, which is expected to open in Philadelphia in late 2016.   Continue reading “Washington’s flag awaits museum’s 2016 opening”

The days of hearsay “he said, she said” reports on school bus incidents might be over, at least in Pennsylvania.

Gov. Tom Corbett signed legislation in February allowing the use of audio recording devices on school buses, and many districts are taking advantage of the law. The recordings can be used for “disciplinary and security purposes,” the bill states. Video surveillance already was permitted.

President Obama reminded Democratic donors that “our future rests” on the success of people brought to the United States illegally as children, who would qualify for citizenship if Congress had passed the DREAM Act.

“About 30 to 40 percent of the kids in this school, by the way, are DREAM kids,” Obama said Wednesday evening. “You wouldn’t know it looking at them, because they are as American as apple pie.  But every single one of these kids, you might not be able to tell the difference, but a whole bunch of them — they’re worried about whether or not they’re going to be able to finance their college education of their immigrant status.  They’re worried about whether, in fact, this country that they love so deeply loves them back and understands that our future rests on their success.  Why wouldn’t we want to give them that certainty that you are part of the fabric of this nation, we’re counting on you, and we’re going to make sure you succeed?  Why wouldn’t we want to do that?”   Continue reading “Obama: ‘Our Future Rests’ On The Success Of DREAM Kids”

From an Air Force ad placed in the ISNA magazine to recruit Muslim chaplainsThe Clarion Project – by Ryan Mauro

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, is proudly announcing that the U.S. military is again using their chaplains for active-duty service after a 15-year lull.

ISNA has a well-documented extremist history. In 1991, the Muslim Brotherhood listed ISNA as one of its main fronts. Declassified FBI memos said ISNA is a component of the Muslim Brotherhood, who sees its “work in America as a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.”   Continue reading “U.S. Military Hires Chaplains Endorsed by Brotherhood Entity”

The crisis on the border and 99,000 illegal alien children is by design to undermine immigration lawsExaminer – by Dean Chambers

It is now estimated that 99,000 children have been transported through our border with Mexico and into the United States since the beginning of this year. It has been suspected that Barack Obama is deliberately allowing and condoning this, as a way to apply theCloward-Piven strategy to immigration and overwhelm our Southern border with so many Mexican children and illegal aliens that it will force Congress to capitulate to his demand to pass amnesty. Now this has been proven true.   Continue reading “Obama Regime ‘proactively facilitating human-trafficking’ over Mexican border”
