Freedom Outpost – by Tim Brown

Barack Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell recently told a group of Latino bloggers in an online chat that the Obama administration wants to make Obamacare available for illegal aliens.

You may recall back in 2009 that Rep. Joe Wilson, a Republican from my home state of South Carolina, yelled out “You lie!” to Barack Obama. He was chided and maligned in the press and even by so-called “conservatives” for calling Obama what he is. But do you recall what he said Obama was lying about? Let me refresh your memory.   Continue reading “Obama HHS Secretary Encourages Illegals to Sign Up for Obamacare”

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reflected on Democrats’ big losses in the midterm elections. In part, he correctly diagnosed the problem, but then he doubled down on his own ideological suppositions: “[W]hen government failed to deliver on a string of non-economic issues – the rollout of the ObamaCare exchanges and the mishandling of the surge in border crossers, the ineptitude of the VA, the initial handling of the Ebola threat – people lost faith in government’s ability to work, and then blamed the incumbent governing party, the Democrats, creating a Republican wave.   Continue reading “Schumer Says Middle Class Needs Big Government”

Their injuries were non-life threatening.   Continue reading “Two FBI Agents Shot at Barricaded Home Near Ferguson, Missouri”

This past week, on This American Life, the first 20 minutes or so are the incredible story of just how screwed up the ATF continues to be (the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms). Much of this has been reported on over the past year and a half by reporters in Milwaukee (and investigated by Congress), but it’s absolutely worth listening to the details — which you can doover on the This American Life page (I’d post the embed here, but unfortunately This American Life does not yet appear to support HTTPS, so we can’t). The story is all kinds of stunning, including the insane fact that most of the details came out, and the reporters only began their investigation, because some undercover ATF agents in Milwaukee had trashed the property they were renting, and refused to pay the rent or damages to the landlord — even threatening the landlord, claiming he was harassing federal agents by asking for the rent:   Continue reading “The ATF’s Fake Retail Stores, Bad Behavior… And Why It Only Came Out Because They Failed To Pay Rent”

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is expected to release on Wednesday a contentious and long-delayed environmental regulation to curb emissions of ozone, a smog-causing pollutant linked to asthma, heart disease and premature death.

The sweeping regulation, which would aim at smog from power plants and factories across the country, particularly in the Midwest, would be the latest in a series of Environmental Protection Agency controls on air pollution that wafts from smokestacks and tailpipes. Such regulations, released under the authority of the Clean Air Act, have become a hallmark of President Obama’s administration.   Continue reading “Obama to Introduce Sweeping New Controls on Ozone Emissions”

Some 2,000 National Guard troops helped ward off a second night of rampant arson and looting in suburban St. Louis after a grand jury declined to indict a white policeman in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager, and sympathy protests spread to several U.S. cities.

President Barack Obama appealed for dialogue, and his attorney general promised that a federal probe into the Aug. 9 slaying of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, would be rigorous.   Continue reading “National Guard, police curb Ferguson unrest as protests swell across U.S.”

John Michael Mosher, 21, was also arrested, and charged with sexual battery on a minor, WWSB reported. Under President Obama’s new program to protect millions of illegal immigrants from deportation, many of those affected will be eligible to receive Social Security, Medicare and a wide array of other federal benefits, a White House official said Tuesday.

The global economy has just hit the wall. Do not underestimate the significance of the Asian downturn. Japan saw a dramatic rebirth after WWII and China was transformed into an industrial powerhouse from the “Free Trade” debacle. Now that the Central Bankers of the world are turning to Japan and China to keep the financial bubble from blowing, the focus pivots to the East. Pushing on a string is no easy task. Nervously, all eyes have to wonder if more debt will prevent the expected crash.

When the British financial press warns about Spreading deflation across East Asia threatens fresh debt crisis, people should listen.   Continue reading “Chinese and Japanese Deflationary Economies”

CLEVELAND (AP) — Several hundred people marched down an exit ramp and temporarily blocked rush-hour traffic on a busy freeway on Tuesday while protesting a police officer’s fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy who had brandished a realistic-looking novelty gun.

Police diverted traffic but didn’t take action against the protesters, who chanted phrases such as “Hands up, don’t shoot” and “No justice, no peace” as they sat in a major intersection before marching past City Hall and onto state Route 2.   Continue reading “Cleveland crowd protests over boy shot by police”

When bad bills (or idiotic initiatives) become law, everyone suffers.

Will Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe’s, Cabela’s and countless other sporting goods and hardware stores, as well as construction companies in Washington and even the state Department of Transportation, comply with Initiative 594 when it becomes law, and will this state’s prosecuting attorneys prosecute those who don’t?

Russian Submarine Launching A Nuclear Missile - Public DomainEnd Of The American Dream – by Michael Snyder

If the United States and Russia fought a nuclear war, who would win?  You might be surprised by the answer.  Under the Obama administration, the rapidly aging U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal has been shrinking.  Meanwhile, the Russians have been developing an entirely new generation of bombers, submarines and missiles that have the capability of delivering an absolutely crippling first strike.  At this point, most Americans consider a full-scale nuclear war to be inconceivable.   Continue reading “10 Signs That Russia Is Preparing To Fight (And Win) A Nuclear War With The United States”

Crimeans should pay off their debts to Ukrainian banks despite now living under Russian law, a Russian Central Bank official was quoted as saying, marking a change in position by Moscow which had suggested ignoring any payment demands.

Reuters reported last week that thousands of Crimeans were not paying their debts to Ukrainian banks, with many taking their cue from Russian President Vladimir Putin who in April told one resident wondering how to pay off a car loan: “Please use the car and don’t worry.”   Continue reading “Russian Central Bank Official Says Crimeans Should Repay Loans After All”
