Cold onion rings led to an attack involving a switchblade and Taser at a New Mexico Burger King, alleges a customer.

Robert DeYapp filed a lawsuit against the fast-food franchise last week after he said the manager Francisco Berrera tried to attack him after he asked for his onion rings to be heated up, reports Courthouse News Service.

In a case bearing several similarities to Justina Pelletier’s family’s experience with Boston Children’s Hospital, and Isaiah Rider’s family’s experience with Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, 10 and 12 year old sisters have been seized by Phoenix Children’s Hospital over a medical dispute. WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly 40 years ago, authorities said former diplomat William Bradford “Brad” Bishop Jr. bludgeoned his family to death with a sledgehammer and disappeared into the North Carolina woods. For decades, investigators believed he might have used his education, international experience and knowledge of foreign languages to flee to Europe and assume a new identity.

On Thursday, the FBI had a new theory: Bishop never left the rural South, living as a homeless vagrant until he was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Alabama in 1981. The John Doe in that case bears a strong resemblance to Bishop, so authorities have dug up the unidentified remains to see if they match his DNA, the FBI said. Just 12 miles south of the spot where a police officer killed Michael Brown, it happened again: Another 18-year-old died at the hands of police on Wednesday.

An off-duty officer opened fire on the teen, and the policeman didn’t stop until he’d fired his weapon 17 times, authorities say.

The situation in the Ukraine and Novorussia is a very tense and could lead to a major resumption of hostilities.

The Junta Repression Forces (JRF) have used the ceasefire to lick their wounds, get reorganized, concentrate their forces, bring in much needed reinforcements, prepare defensive fortifications and bring in new units.  The Novorussian Armed Forces (NAF) have done the same but, unlike the JRF, the NAF suffer from a lack of equipment, possibly made worse by a reduction of the flow of weapons, in particular heavy ones, from Russia (the so-called voentorg).  In terms of personnel, the influx of volunteers to the NDF has remained steady and strong.   Continue reading “Ukraine SITREP October 8th, 16:00 UTC/Zulu: The calm before the storm?”

The notion of an authorized disclosure of classified information is close to being a contradiction in terms. If something is classified, how can its disclosure be authorized (without declassification)? And if something is disclosed by an official who is authorized to do so, how can it still be classified? An administrative law judge has ruled that a Kentucky printer’s refusal to print gay pride T-shirts “constitutes unlawful discrimination,” and, by extension, that printers cannot refuse to print materials promoting ideas they disagree with.

Hands On Originals is a business that prints custom designs on clothes, accessories and other items like mugs and bottles.
