Deaths from West Africa’s Ebola outbreak, the deadliest outbreak in history, continue to rise as more people become infected everyday – so what are countries able to do about it?

Well, starting in West Africa – they’re closing borders. According to Guinéenews, the afflicted nation announced Saturday its closing its borders with Sierra Leone and Liberia in an attempt to stymie the influx of infected people in and out of the country.

Al Jazeera quotes the country’s health minister as saying: “We have provisionally closed the frontier between Guinea and Sierra Leone because of all the news that we have received from there recently.”

Bruce RaunerPR Watch – by Ruth Conniff

If you are not in the Chicago media market, you might not know much about Bruce Rauner, the Mitt Romney-like candidate for governor in Illinois, who is running ahead in the polls against Democratic Governor Pat Quinn.

If Rauner wins, Illinois will have a lot more in common with its neighbor, Wisconsin. Politically, Rauner resembles union-basher and school privatizer Scott Walker. Only Rauner is much, much richer.

In an interview with the Chicago Sun Times, Rauner talked about his career at GTCR, the Chicago-based private equity firm he founded.    Continue reading “Tax Dodger Running for Governor in Illinois”

Photos showing dozens of members of the militia groups on the U.S.-Mexico border carrying semi-automatic rifles and wearing masks, camouflage and tactical gear provide one of the first glimpses into the group's activities on the border. Photo: Provided To The San Antonio Express-NewsThis weekend an edition of La Voz de Houston was delivered gratis to my address. Circulation of this twice weekly publication is claimed to be approximately 400,000, targeting Latinos of the area.

I don’t speak Spanish, but looking at the front-page headline, “Texas Milicias en la frontera: arma de doble filo,” I realized I had been given an instructive piece of mixed fact and propaganda aimed at the Houston metro Latino population and with it the opportunity to share it with the FTTWR community.

Using online translation, with some editing and sentence recasting, here is the article in English for all to read, and although I cannot verify the complete accuracy of this translation, I do think it’s very, very close.   Continue reading “WEAPONS Militias on the border create concern”

Here they go again! Staunch anti-2nd Amendment Democrat, Senator Kevin De León and his fellow leftists are at it again. This time they’ve got your ammo in their sights. DeLeon, from Los Angeles, is one of the most ardent opponents of the 2nd Amendment. His latest bill, SB53, is nothing less than a back door ban on the 2nd Amendment using ammo as a proxy.

This bill will violate your Constitutional Rights by penalizing citizens who wish to exercise their basic natural right of Self Defense as an American. If SB 53 passes, you will be forced to pay a fee to the CA Department of Justice in order to obtain a permit to buy what you can legally purchase now without one. You will be stripped of your freedom to purchase ammo online by an ever expanding government.    Continue reading “‘Shots fired’ as the Left Takes Dead Aim at Ammo (SB 53)”
