The title of world’s largest solar farm is fleeting with California adding solar capacity in half-gigawatt chunks.
Yet another half-gigawatt solar power project is coming on-line in California.
Late last year, the 550-megawatt capacity Topaz Solar project achieved full commercial operation and claimed the title of largest solar plant on-line in the world.
And now Topaz has to share the crown with First Solar’s 550-megawatt Desert Sunlight project in Riverside, California, which went all-on this month, according to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) website. Police and forensic reports released this week to MHB by the Tallahassee City Attorney’s Office indicate that five Florida State University and two Tallahassee police officers fired their .40 caliber handguns a total 34 times at 31-year-old FSU alum and Texas attorney Myron May on November 20, 2014. May, whose videotaped suicide note indicates he took up the mantle of mass shooter to draw attention to the plight of “targeted individuals”, was struck nine times, with five of the officers’ bullets hitting him in the rear of his pelvic area and lower extremities. Rep. Bill Flores, R-Texas, says President Obama’s loyalty to liberal special interests could doom Republican efforts to fund the Department of Homeland Security while blocking funding for Obama’s unilateral action to confer legal status on at least five million people in the nation illegally.
However, Flores said Obama is already taking additional actions to undermine the rule of law and American families before Congress even finishes it defunding efforts.

Senior officials in the Jewish community say many Jews have been drawn to the UK by Britain’s relative economic stability, while others perceive it as a safe space to practice their religious beliefs.

People who receive flu vaccines year after year can sometimes show reduced protection, an effect that Canadian infectious disease specialists say muddies public health messages for annual flu vaccine campaigns.
During the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, researchers at the B.C. Centre for Disease Control originally thought seasonal flu shots from 2008 might offer extra protection against the new pandemic strain. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi this week appointed Rep. Andre Carson of Indiana to the panel, which oversees the government’s intelligence departments and activities. State and local police in the United States will no longer be able to use federal laws to justify seizing property without evidence of a crime, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said on Friday.
Under the official law, the Justice Department’s Equitable Sharing Program, local police departments can keep 80% of the stuff seized during drug raids and other investigations.
The practice of local police taking property, including cash and cars, from people that they stop, and of handing it over to federal authorities, became common during the country’s war on drugs in the 1980s. Nick and Sarah Bloom were startled from sleep Thursday night by the sound of gunshots outside their home on a usually quiet Bloomington street. Their bedroom was lit up with the red glare from flashing squad car lights, and they heard shouting.

Consumers have long had the support of government to try to control these calls, chiefly through the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which actually allows consumers to file lawsuits and collect penalties from companies that pepper them with robocalls or text messages they didn’t agree to receive.
