My God has a name does yours?

When I was younger, many years ago, things in this country and relationships between people were vastly different. There were no sects of Christianity to speak of and if you wanted to know God there was always someone around to teach you the New Testament and to take you down to the creek to baptize you. We used to bring our grill, our cooler full of lemonade and iced tea, and go down to the creek.

Sometimes we’d have mass baptisms.

Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

The law of the new covenant is greater than the ten commandments, for the new law is the law of love. Out of this new law springs the “bill of rights” which was given to us as a representation of a new covenant to bring men back to God. When you deprive men of freedom and natural rights, you remove their beginning faith in God.

For example: Let’s say one of your neighbors breaks into the drug store downtown and robs the place. He gets caught, arrested, tried and convicted and then serves 5 years for the burglary. When he gets out, he can’t vote and he can’t own a gun. This is unlawful because a law without mercy is no law at all. The whole “felon class” is an abomination to the principles of natural law and righteousness.

It makes little sense for heathen men to constantly try to enslave other men while the New Testament and the spirit of God seek to make men free.

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

    1. You need to shut the fk up and quit pushing you religious beliefs on the rest of us.
      I am saddened in my heart that Henry and Laura would even publish your buybull bllsht.
      My respect for them has gone down a notch.
      Koyote….you need to shut the fk up.
      Go outside…
      Turn the power on your house off.
      Then pull out your buybull.
      Start praying to Casper the friendly ghost and see what happens.

      1. Ever heard of Freedom of Speech? It is one of them pesky ideas.

        Big question is why do you take it serious enough to shut him up, instead of ignoring or engage in discussion.

        You are trying to use a baseball bat instead of a good arguments to show and educate the readers.

        1. Thanks TraceAm, you just nailed the real issue between Christians and self-righteous unbelievers, and that’s actually responding to arguments with counter-arguments and not logical fallacies like ad hominem attacks which is all they have if they refuse to reveal their stupidity.

    2. Koyote: The way I see it:
      All one has to do is keep speaking the truth and eventually every serpent and scorpion will expose itself. Darkness can never extinguish the light all it can do is curse the light and blaspheme. The more light you shine the greater the hatred and they start to gnash with their teeth.

      2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
      2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
      2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
      2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
      2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
      and
      Pro 27:22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

      Keep fighting the good fight, God has established our souls.

      1. “Koyote: The way I see it:

        What is this truth you speak of, If the founding Father exposed its idiocy in the Age of Reason? Alas I agree it is his opinion, but then again, this Christianity is nothing more then opinion EITHER! ANd for sure, Truth can never be based on Democratic Principles of a majority believes so it has to be true. (I Know religious tend to have a slight uptight feeling there, since this is what they do, without naming it.)

        I rather tend to believe a Founding Father before any soapbox speaker repeating discredited 2000 year old memes, that shake and ramble by their shear idiocy and the single idea that god doesn’t even know his own universe, or the principles he build it on, that have to be updated by the religious every time Science comes with a new building block don’t give it all more credibility. Updating Gods Word? So who’s word is it really?

        Then again, Thomas Paine already stated: (And feel free to verify at http://www.ushistory.org/paine/reason/singlehtml.htm )

        “That many good men have believed this strange fable, and lived very good lives under that belief (for credulity is not a crime), is what I have no doubt of. In the first place, they were educated to believe it, and they would have believed anything else in the same manner. There are also many who have been so enthusiastically enraptured by what they conceived to be the infinite love of God to man, in making a sacrifice of himself, that the vehemence of the idea has forbidden and deterred them from examining into the absurdity and profaneness of the story. The more unnatural anything is, the more it is capable of becoming the object of dismal admiration.”

        A book surely a mandatory read by every 3rd grade student.

        The profound truth of “they were educated to believe it, and they would have believed anything else in the same manner.” can be applied to many things.. War on Terror, Drugs. You name it and there is a fear you can believe in, and that will like an invisible hand influence you.

        Now one for the road from me.. If you can change your specific density to slightly under that of water, one would indeed be able to walk on water. Now here is the question for the year 2000.. If you can do that, then why not make yourself a little lighter, and just float in the air.. A fact that none can deny, and fore sure no one without deity characteristics can repeat.
        Godly claims, demand godly evidence.
        None delivered but hearsay.
        Now bless you child, and smoke some more of that burning bush/herp. Maybe it will speak to you also, and remember, it worked for Moses.

  1. Gotta say ,I’ll not agree or Do what ever. I wan’t all the knowledge the everlasting life for free. Really whats the problem? Bitch,Bitch. It never ends

  2. “There were no sects of Christianity to speak of and if you wanted to know God there was always someone around to teach you the New Testament and to take you down to the creek to baptize you.”

    hoho… Not so fast dude….

    There were times in this good ol’s Merica that them dear loving cretins were just as barbaric as Muslims. In the early colonies you were PUT TO DEATH for something as simple as not acknowledging the Holy Trinity… not to forget claimed to be a witch, if a local christian wanted Your property. (MobRule, Gangmurder.)

    So spare us your fairy tales, because quite simple if you remember history you can predict the future within limits. Given dumbing down, ruthless greedy preachers, we can have them times back in no time. Civilization, is just skin deep and last a couple of missed meals.

    Now donate some money to israel.. You know the upper dude only does business with jews.

  3. I could have predicted this would happen sooner or later once you open that “can of worms” called religion. Slingin’ dogma at each other, let’s all go down to the creek and wash up. I’ve tried to stay out of it but it has evolved into something pretty ugly. (And I’m not talking just this comment thread, but religion in general.)

  4. If you are a Christian …Muslim…Buddhist etc….
    Then you must also carry the cross of the millions of lives that were killed and persecuted in the name of their gods.
    Their blood is now carried on your hands.
    Thanks ladies…you have stepped up…
    Just like the Oracle of Delphi.
    God bless your hearts.
