Tragically, most Americans do not have any idea what it was that actually triggered America’s War for Independence. The primary reason was not “taxation without representation,” or taxes of any kind, for that matter. And it was certainly not because our Founding Fathers were a bunch of anti-government extremists or demon-possessed puppets of the Illuminati. Prominent far-right activists and groups banned from rallying with weapons in Charlottesville, Virginia, after the deadly 2017 “Unite the Right” rally are headed back to the state for a pro-gun rally in Richmond, where tensions are running high.
The demonstration was triggered by a package of gun control bills backed by Virginia’s Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, and set to be passed by the Democratic-majority state legislature. Baltimore, MD — Nothing highlights the lack of training, the irrational fear, and brutal nature of police officers quite like videos of them beating elderly women. While this may sound shocking, it happens and is caught on video far too often to be an “isolated incident.” In fact, TFTP just reported on an elderly grandmother being attacked and tasered in her own home by cops after she demanded a warrant before they entered her home, and now, it’s happened again. Days after the Soleimani assassination and a move in Iraq’s parliament to begin the process of expelling American forces from the country, Trump issued threats of severe economic reprisal against Baghdad should it move forward with booting US troops. “We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that’s there. It cost billions of dollars to build. Long before my time. We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it,” he said at the time in an initial veiled threat. Richmond, VA — Since last month, tensions have been escalating in Virginia as lawmakers prepared a slew of gun laws that would have drastically changed the landscape of the state’s view on the Second Amendment.
