Firing an AK-47 semiautomatic pistol through an opening in the door to his south side flat, suspected gun dealer Jordan P. Fricke killed Milwaukee Police Officer Matthew Rittner with a shot that pierced his aorta and both lungs, a criminal complaint filed Sunday said.

Fricke fired the Serbian-made weapon through the hole — opened by Rittner with a battering ram — despite officers repeatedly yelling “Police!” and “Search warrant!” the complaint said. NEW YORK (Reuters) – Democratic lawmakers are pushing stricter gun laws in statehouses across the country, emboldened by sweeping electoral victories in 2018 and confident that public opinion is on their side a year after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) sent a cease and desist letter to Google last week, demanding that the company stop allowing its customers to report police checkpoints using their GPS apps.

The report mentioned Google Maps and Waze, the popular GPS app that allows users to share information about hazards on the road, including the presence of police.
