A federal appeals court has ruled that Americans have the right to videotape police officers in public, thereby allowing a court case brought against New Hampshire police to progress.
Carla Gericke was arrested in 2010 for videotaping members of the Weare Police Department who pulled over her friend during a traffic stop. PHOENIX (AP) — Navy veteran Ken Senft turned to the Department of Veterans Affairs for medical care in 2011 after his private insurance grew too costly. It could have been a fatal mistake, he now says.

NEW MILFORD, New Jersey — Five New Milford high school students are facing charges stemming from a counterfeiting scheme.

AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas group responsible for Chipotle’s new “no guns” policy and famous for its public demonstrations has a new target in its sights: the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
Open Carry Texas formed in early 2013 after its founder, active U.S. Army Master Sergeant CJ Grisham, was arrested for resisting arrest after a Temple policeman balked at his carrying a rifle on a hike with his son. Tens of thousands of children unaccompanied by parents or relatives are flooding across the southern U.S. border illegally, forcing the Obama administration and Congress to grapple with both a humanitarian crisis and a budget dilemma.
An estimated 60,000 such children will pour into the United States this year, according to the administration, up from about 6,000 in 2011. Now, Washington is trying to figure out how to pay for their food, housing and transportation once they are taken into custody. We had some flooding rains yesterday. It got pretty bad. My phone was getting these strange alerts all day telling me that it was raining. We dont have an app for any alerts. We didnt sign up for any alerts, but they alerted our phones anyway. I had heard about this mandatory software being in the smart phones, but never had it happen to mine until yesterday.

I wrote here and here about the Obama administration’s proposed rule on “affirmatively furthering fair housing” (AFFH), an attempt to dictate how we shall live. In essence, President Obama seeks to use the power of the national government to create communities of a certain kind, each having what the federal government deems an appropriate mix of economic, racial, and ethnic diversity.

The US doesn’t want peace in Ukraine — it wants control. So now that the situation there has largely blown up in their face, it’s not unreasonable to suspect them of fomenting more unrest in an attempt to change momentum.
Monday’s ruthless attack by the Ukrainian government in Donetsk in which up to 100 people were killed was a clear indication of this. Although the government labeled the offensive as an “anti-terrorist” operation, the reality is that it was either a case of Ukraine killing its own people, or it was a military assault against a sovereign population, depending on one’s interpretation of the Donetsk People’s Republic referendum of May 11 in which the people overwhelmingly voted for independence from Ukraine.
