A weaker system on Wednesday into Wednesday night will make way for the strongest system in three years to hit Southern California on Friday and this storm system will bring a lot of flooding, being the region has been so dry and thus people in the flood prone zones need to start preparing sandbags and doing flood preparations along the hillsides.

The system, currently out in the Pacific, has a strong southerly jet influence to it.  The storm is set to hit on Friday.  Upper divergence and jet dynamics suggest that heavy rain is likely south and west of the mountains, bringing in over two inches of rain in a short period of time, with higher amounts in the foothills.  The system will be the strongest in three years.   Continue reading “Southern California Major Storm Coming, Flood Preparations Underway”

BONNE TERRE, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri inmate was executed early Wednesday for abducting, raping and killing a Kansas City teenager as she waited for her school bus in 1989, marking the state’s fourth lethal injection in as many months.

Michael Taylor, 47, was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m. at the state prison in Bonne Terre. SAN DIEGO (AP) — A San Diego family is suing Petco after the death of their 10-year-old son from a bacterial infection they say he contracted from his pet rat.

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge has seen a record-breaking level of ‘jumpers’ in 2013, with 46 people ending their life, according to a watchdog group. This is 1.5 times higher than a year before.

In the end, however, life on the run unraveled for Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman in a decidedly low-tech way.

Storing seeds is important for you and your family. It is a form of insurance because it provides you a dependable long term food source when crap hits it. These seeds can be beneficial to your family when grown and harvested.

When storing seeds, make sure that you store only open-pollinated seeds like organic or heirloom seeds and not hybrid seeds which are artificially pollinated and mainly created for commercial farmers. Produce from hybrid seeds are often not as nutritious and tasty as produce from heirloom seeds.
