Jerusalem, March 23: Israeli foreign ministry workers began a general strike Sunday, effectively shutting down all diplomatic services in Israel and around 103 foreign missions abroad.
An internal e-mail sent from the the foreign ministry’s workers union to its employees and published by the Ha’aretz daily said the strike would begin 3 p.m. Sunday, and in the missions abroad the strike will commence Monday, Xinhua reported. Five passengers are presumed dead after a small plane crashed tragically into the icy depths of a Colorado reservoir Saturday afternoon.
It was a recovery mission from the start as crews at the Ridgeway Reservoir worked to fish out the single-engine Socata TBM700 and the bodies of everyone aboard after they fell out of the sky for undetermined reasons around 2pm. For those conducting studies of the harmful effects of marijuana, the federal government has usually been willing to share from its stash, which comes from the only federally sanctioned pot farm in the country. But those looking to find positive uses for the drug have always found Uncle Sam to be bogarting his joint.
Until now. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has finally approved the sale of federally grown marijuana for a study that would research whether pot could help veterans cope with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The Food and Drug Administration approved the study back in 2011, but University of Arizona Professor Suzanne Sisley, who will conduct the study, and the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), which is funding it, were unable to get marijuana.
