Chicago train crash [Monday] has left at least 33 people injured in what was possibly deliberate. A train that was not in service hit a full one while it was waiting in a Forest Park CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) station. According to United Press International on Sept. 30, although it was likely a mechanical failure, which caused this accident, they cannot yet rule out that it was done on purpose.   Continue reading “Chicago train crash: At least 33 injured in possibly deliberate crash”

WASHINGTON: In a rare move, the top Marine on Monday forced two generals into retirement after concluding they should be held to account for failing to secure a base in Afghanistan on which two Marines were killed by Taliban attackers a year ago.

Gen. James Amos, the commandant of the Marine Corps, said in announcing his decision that Maj. Gen. Charles M. Gurganus and Maj. Gen. Gregg A. Sturdevant “did not take adequate force protection measures” at Camp Bastion, an airfield in southwestern Afghanistan that was the Taliban target.    Continue reading “Two generals forced to retire for Afghanistan breach”

AR15 News

Laissez Faire – by Prr Lzkdrqxcwm

A sixth-grader has been suspended for drawing an inappropriate picture. The drawing did not include any gun, but showed a checkpoint backed up by a SWAT team carrying flower pots while an unarmed drone hovered above.

The suspended girl, whose name is kept secret at the request of her family, said she “just wanted to draw something about social justice, the environment, and the glory of government.”     Continue reading “6th-Grader Suspended for Government Drawing (Satire)”

An empty Senate meeting room, just outside the chamber, is seen Monday in Washington. Only a week remains for Congress to pass a funding bill to avoid a government shutdown. It’s All Politics – by Adam Wollner

In seven days, the federal government runs out of money.

While the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed a resolution Friday that keeps the government funded through Dec. 15, the measure also defunded President Obama’s signature health care law — which means it has virtually no chance of passing the Democratic-controlled Senate.

If a budget resolution doesn’t hit President Obama’s desk before Oct. 1, that’s a big problem: The government will be forced to close its doors.  Continue reading “8 Things To Know About A Government Shutdown”

Were they criminals, hobbyists, or just two people who wanted to live life like a video game? We don’t know yet, but police are still searching for the two finely dressed men who parachuted into lower Manhattan, landed near the Goldman Sachs building and then disappeared early on Monday morning.

The day’s most intriguing story not involving the government shutdown was first revealed on Twitter by a NBC New York reporter:    Continue reading “Police Are Searching for Two Parachutists Who Disappeared Near Goldman Sachs”

Common Dreams – by Norman Solomon

To the people in control of the Executive Branch, violating our civil liberties is an essential government service. So — to ensure total fulfillment of Big Brother’s vast responsibilities — the National Security Agency is insulated from any fiscal disruption.

The NSA’s surveillance programs are exempt from a government shutdown. With typical understatement, an unnamed official told The Hill that “a shutdown would be unlikely to affect core NSA operations.”  Continue reading “The NSA Deserves a Permanent Shutdown”

The Weekly Standard – by Jeryl Bier

Even as President Obama and his administration are making a last minute push to encourage enrollment in Obamacare, a quiet change was made on the Healthcare.gov website regarding those who will still not be able to afford coverage after the program kicks in. From at least June 26, 2013 to as recently as September 15, under the topic, “Where can I get free or low-cost care in my community?” the following statement appeared: “If you can’t afford any health plan, you can get free or low-cost health and dental care at a nearby community health center.” Here is how the page in question appeared:   Continue reading “Obamacare Website Quietly Deletes Reference to ‘Free Health Care’”

bush education law texasHuffington Post – by Joy Resmovits

It’s official. Texas is leaving behind George W. Bush’s baby — the No Child Left Behind education law.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced Monday that he approved the application of Texas, Bush’s home state, for a waiver from the No Child Left Behind Act. This makes Texas the 42nd state to receive permission to ditch the notorious education law’s most onerous strictures.   Continue reading “George W. Karen HudesThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Karen Hudes is a graduate of Yale Law School and she worked in the legal department of the World Bank for more than 20 years.  In fact, when she was fired for blowing the whistle on corruption inside the World Bank, she held the position of Senior Counsel.  She was in a unique position to see exactly how the global elite rule the world, and the information that she is now revealing to the public is absolutely stunning.  According to Hudes, the elite use a very tight core of financial institutions and mega-corporations to dominate the planet.  The goal is control.  They want all of us enslaved to debt, they want all of our governments enslaved to debt, and they want all of our politicians addicted to the huge financial contributions that they funnel into their campaigns.  Since the elite also own all of the big media companies, the mainstream media never lets us in on the secret that there is something fundamentally wrong with the way that our system works.   Continue reading “World Bank Whistleblower Karen Hudes Reveals How The Global Elite Rule The World”

I Will Not Comply With ObamaCareMilitia News – by Matthew May

Like most members of the Congress that passed it and, undoubtedly, the president of the United States who signed it, I have not read the entirety of the ill-named Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Yet there is one aspect concerning that legislation of which I am certain: I will not comply.

I will not comply because I am a free citizen of the United States, not a subject of its government. I consider non-compliance with this monstrosity and the tens of thousands of pages of regulations that are to be enforced by an unelected bureaucracy, and that have left a gigantic carbon footprint on our environment and the United States Constitution, a duty.  Continue reading “I Will Not Comply With Obamacare.”

Huffington Post – by Charles Furguson

In late 2012, CNN Films approached me about directing a documentary. We discussed a number of potential subjects, and eventually settled on Hillary Rodham Clinton. The film would be ambitious, controversial, and highly visible. But I felt that it was important, that I was qualified to do it, and that I could be fair. CNN gave me complete control (“final cut”) over the theatrical version, and a generous budget.   Continue reading “Why I Am Cancelling My Documentary on Hillary Clinton”
