Pro-Palestinian mob reportedly attacks Jewish patrons at LA restaurant

New York Post – by Bruce Golding

Jewish diners at a Los Angeles restaurant were assaulted by a pro-Palestinian mob during an incident that Mayor Eric Garcetti called an “organized, anti-Semitic attack,” according to a report.

Witnesses told CBSLA that the assailants were waving Palestinian flags when they pulled up to the Sushi Fumi restaurant in Beverly Grove.

The unidentified men began shouting anti-Semitic slurs and throwing bottles during the incident, which unfolded around 10 p.m. Tuesday and was at least partially captured on cellphone video, according to the TV news outlet.

“A bunch of the cars stopped and maybe 30 of the men in the cars got out, started running towards the tables and asking indiscriminately, ‘Who’s Jewish?’” a woman who was at the eatery recalled.

A photographer who was there planning a wedding with several Jewish men said he was attacked when he tried to defend the group.

“It was a hate crime,” said the shutterbug, who’s not Jewish.

“It was prepared, they came to fight with Jewish people.”

Five victims were punched or cut by broken glass, but no one was seriously hurt, cops told CBSLA.

The incident unfolded amid ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip, which has also prompted protests and clashes in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

In a pair of social media posts Wednesday, Garcetti said cops were investigating the incident “as a hate crime, and we will respond with the full force of the law.”

“L.A. is a city of belonging, not of hate,” Garcetti tweeted.

“We as a city condemn last night’s organized, anti-Semitic attack.”

At least three suspects were being sought by investigators, and the Anti-Defamation League of Los Angeles offered a $5,000 reward for information in the case.
