At least two people were injured in a shooting in the stands of a high school football game in Pleasantville, New Jersey on Friday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
In a game between Pleasantville and Camden, several shots could be heard ringing out in the bleachers during a punt play in the game’s third quarter. The teenager who shot five fellow students in a 16-second killing rampage at a Southern California high school has died, authorities announced Friday night.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow died at about 3:30 p.m. Friday at a hospital with his mother nearby. Berhow had been in critical condition after shooting himself following the rampage, which killed two other students. MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Attorney General William Barr announced a new initiative Wednesday that would better enforce the U.S. gun background check system, coordinate state and federal gun cases and ensure prosecutors quickly update databases to show when a defendant can’t possess a firearm because of mental health issues.
The push, known as Project Guardian, was unveiled at a news conference in Memphis, Tennessee, alongside officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, on the same day public impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump began in Washington. An apparent step-up of receipt and shopping bag checks at Walmart has sparked customer complaints, raising concerns about shoppers’ rights.
“It was not a request, it was a demand,” said Penny Rintoul of Vaughan, Ont., about a recent receipt check just before she exited Walmart with her purchases. HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The FBI has begun a corruption investigation into how Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration came to issue permits for construction on a multibillion-dollar pipeline project to carry highly volatile natural gas liquids across Pennsylvania, The Associated Press has learned.

(Reuters) – A federal judge on Tuesday struck down the Trump administration’s effort to allow blueprints for making guns from 3-D printers to be posted online.
U.S. District Judge Robert Lasnik said the State Department violated federal law by letting Defense Distributed, a Texas-based nonprofit, publish downloadable blueprints for the untraceable, undetectable, mainly plastic firearms, as part of a June 2018 legal settlement. Militants in Gaza sent a barrage of at least 50 rockets over the border into Tel Aviv early Tuesday, vowing further revenge after the Israeli military carried out a pair of targeted airstrikes on senior Islamic jihad commanders in Gaza and in Syria.

Chilling new details are emerging in the case of Adrienne Quintal, who’s been missing since she called a friend for help while visiting a remote cabin in the woods of northern Michigan last month.
On Oct. 17, Quintal, 47, a mother of one from Warren, was at her family’s cabin in Honor, in Benzie County, near Lake Michigan, when she called a friend at 2:34 a.m. saying she needed help, the Benzie County Sheriff’s Office says in a new release. A 21-year old protester was shot by police with a live round and a pro-China man was set on fire as Hong Kong woke up Monday to chaos on its streets.
Protesters, answering an online call, attempted to disrupt the Monday morning commute all across the city with what they dubbed as “Operation Dawn.” Groups of protesters fanned out across the city setting up blockades and vandalizing subways stations and intersections. TEHRAN, Iran — Iran has discovered a new oil field in the country’s south with over 50 billion barrels of crude, its president said Sunday, a find that could boost the country’s proven reserves by a third as it struggles to sell energy abroad over U.S. sanctions.

An employee of a Buffalo Wild Wings in Massachusetts died and 10 others were hospitalized Thursday night after being exposed to a floor cleaner inside the restaurant.
Just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, emergency responders in Burlington were called to the scene following the report of a “sick individual and a potential chemical release,” interim Fire Chief Michael Patterson told reporters in a video from the scene. A suspect was arrested near the Arizona border with Mexico in connection with the deaths of nine U.S. citizens – six children and three women – Monday who were living in a Mormon community about 70 miles south of Douglas, Ariz., investigators said early Wednesday.

(Reuters) – A suspected undocumented immigrant was shot and killed in Sunland Park, New Mexico on Monday after he fired at the U.S. patrol officers who were investigating a possible illegal border crossing, officials said.
The Customs and Border Protection officers were investigating in an area close to the border between the United States and Mexico, which is when they encountered the suspect and chased him on foot, the New Mexican state police said in a statement posted online. Outplacement firm of Challenger, Gray & Christmas on Thursday released its job-cuts report for October, showing that a total of 50,275 planned U.S. job cuts were announced in the month, an increase of 21% compared with announced September cuts. However, compared with cuts announced in October 2018, this year’s total is 33.5% lower and marks two consecutive months in which the totals were lower than the year-ago month. President Trump’s border wall may eventually stop illegal immigrants, but right now it has created a new way for them to sneak into the U.S. thanks to the flurry of construction in Southern California.
The Washington Times has learned that migrants are blending into the construction crews building the wall, even donning orange work vests to fit in with the surroundings. The smugglers are using the vests too and going so far as to “clone” construction company trucks to try to fool Border Patrol agents.
