NAPA, CA — A man was placed into handcuffs, a woman sobbed uncontrollably, and their 11-month-old boy was seized by social workers and put into foster care — all because of legally prescribed medical marijuana.  It didn’t matter that no law had been broken; Child Protective Services has the power to split apart families in an instant without a trial, and regularly does across the country.

This heartbreaking situation happened to California couple Shawnee Anderson, 27, and Aaron Hillyer, 34.  After a nosy neighbor called the police because of a loud argument, cops arrived and found doctor-prescribed cannabis — legal for medicinal use in a total of 20 states.   Continue reading “CPS snatched infant because of legal medical marijuana prescription”

Inside a new LAPD squad car (Source: Paul Clinton / Police Mag)Police State USA

LOS ANGELES, CA — A scandal has been discovered inside the LAPD, in which nearly half of the squad cars in one division had their recording equipment tampered with, making accountability more difficult for the dozens of officers involved.  The troubling discovery was exacerbated by police supervisors who made little effort to keep the oversight commission informed.

An audit of the Southeast fleet showed that out of about 160 vehicles, 72 were discovered to have had antennas removed, the LA Times reported.  The antennas are part of a system that allows cruiser footage to be accompanied by detailed audio, even when the officer is far away from his vehicle.  The audio is collected through microphones worn on officers’ clothing, which is sent back to the cruisers via a transmitters attached to officers’ belts.   Continue reading “Recording equipment went missing in half of LAPD cars examined”

war in syriaFree-Man’s Perspective – by Paul Rosenberg

Last year, lots of powerful groups tried to get a war going in Syria. It seemed to me that the necessary ground work hadn’t been done and that they might not be able to pull it off. Thankfully, that’s how it happened.

And by “necessary ground work,” I’m not referring to the military operators the US government had in Syria for a year or two prior; I’m talking about making the American populace eager for a new war. That’s a crucial and often ignored factor.   Continue reading “The War Drums are Beating”

The eight biggest U.S. banks must boost capital levels by a total of about $68 billion under new rules, U.S. regulators said on Tuesday, prompting industry complaints that less-stringent global standards will give overseas competitors an advantage.

The rules would limit banks‘ reliance on debt, part of efforts to prevent another financial crisis. By 2018, banks must rely more on funding sources such as shareholder equity, rather than borrowing money.   Continue reading “Big U.S. banks must boost capital by $68 billion under new rules”

I know what I’m about to present to you is difficult to believe. Please read the following and ask yourself, does it sound like I don’t know what I’m talking about? Do I sound like an irrational or delusional person? Most importantly, considering everything that’s going on, does what I’m positing sound completely implausible?

There are too many details to provide so I’m going to try to keep it brief. I’m a very outspoken activist. About four years ago I began waking up every half hour or hour on the hour. Prior to that I hadn’t ever had any sleeping problems. For several months I thought I was just having trouble sleeping. I started seeing a doctor and a neurologist. I even went to a sleep lab. At the sleep lab I slept fine and I was given no explanation why this would be happening.   Continue reading “Unwarranted Surveillance”
