WASHINGTON — Members of Congress make $174,000 a year, but retiring Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., says that’s not enough.

Moran tells CQ Roll Call that members need bigger paychecks because they have to maintain two residences — one in their home district, and one in Washington.   Continue reading “Moran: $174K a year is not enough for members of Congress”

This map from the U.S. Geological Service shows the range of the volcanic ash that was deposited after the biggest of the Yellowstone National Park eruptions around 2.1 million years ago. "These eruptions left behind huge volcanic depressions called “calderas” and spread volcanic ash over large parts of North America," it said. "If another large caldera-forming eruption were to occur at Yellowstone, its effects would be worldwide. Thick ash deposits would bury vast areas of the United States, and injection of huge volumes of volcanic gases into the atmosphere could drastically affect global climate. Fortunately, the Yellowstone volcanic system shows no signs that it is headed toward such an eruption in the near future. In fact, the probability of any such event occurring at Yellowstone within the next few thousand years is exceedingly low."Epoch Times – by Zachary Stieber

A number of bloggers are posting videos that show bison and other animals allegedly leaving Yellowstone National Park, prompting theories that as earthquakes ramp up the seismic activity will set off the Yellowstone supervolcano.

Two of the main bloggers behind the discussion stress that there’s no way to know when the supervolcano will go off but note that the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that hit on March 30 seemed to set off a reaction from the animals, who are moving for a reason.   Continue reading “Yellowstone Volcano Eruption in 2014? All governments had better open their eyes for we are on the brink of a major convergence between both the Cycle of Civil Unrest, Civil War & Revolution and International War. Both of these models converge and as I pointed out at the Cycles of War Conference, this is the first time we have seen this convergence since the 1700s.   Continue reading “Martin Armstrong Warns This Is The Age Of Civil Unrest”

My wife and I are considered self employed. We are independent contractors that perform work for various companies and at the end of the year we receive a 1099 from them so that we can file our taxes. We do not have taxes withheld like typical workers. We also do not qualify for unemployment do to our being self employed.

This year our fees that the pieces of shit in DC and my state require us to pay to be allowed to live in the kingdom came in under 5 digits. We were almost happy about that. It was mainly because I was out of work for a little while last year. It still hurts to write the check to the thieves in DC. I understand that even a minimal government requires fiat currency to function. But the amounts that they spend on themselves and their bullshit are unacceptable. To put this into perspective, Michelle Obama just went on vacation to China at our expense. Her majesty’s room ran over $8000.00 per night. The taxes that we are forced to pay for a year didn’t quite cover one night for her in her hotel. Yet we have to budget our money to be able to eat. It is tough to write that check every year knowing that the money that we send will go to a bunch of things that we don’t want it to go to.   Continue reading “Taxes! (caution, I will be cursing a lot in this article)”

Fuel Fix – by Jennifer A. Dlouhy

WASHINGTON — European leaders on Tuesday pleaded for the United States to allow more of its natural gas to be sold overseas, transforming the fossil fuel into a geopolitical weapon against Russia and a tool for strengthening allies abroad.

Lithuania’s energy minister, Jaroslav Neverovic, told the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee that the promise of more American natural gas on the world market would help free Russia’s yoke on the Baltic country. Lithuania, which is entirely dependent on Russia for its natural gas, pays 30 percent more than other European nations for the fossil fuel.   Continue reading “European leaders plead for more natural gas exports”

The Obama administration gave the green light on Monday for exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a plant to be built in Oregon, the second such authorization this year, as pressure intensifies on the White House to use the U.S. energy bounty to respond to the political crisis in Ukraine.

It is unclear whether the approval of exports from Veresen Inc’s Jordan Cove plant, the first LNG-export plant permitted on the U.S. West Coast, was accelerated by political tension related to Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region.   Continue reading “Oregon plant LNG exports approved as U.S. pressured to flex energy muscle”
