PHILADELPHIA — A city woman who was convicted in federal court back in November of illegally purchasing firearms for her boyfriend — who was barred from possessing guns — has been sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge to one year in prison.

U.S. District Judge Juan R. Sanchez, sitting in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, handed down the one-year and one-day prison sentence to Brihany Baker, 25, who late last year was found guilty of straw purchasing three firearms from a gun dealer in Horsham Township, Montgomery County. Remington Arms agreed Tuesday to settle liability claims from the families of five adults and four children killed in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, according to a new court filing, marking the first time a gun manufacturer has been held liable for a mass shooting in the U.S.

MEDIA, PA — The expulsion of a Delaware County high school student violated that student’s right to free speech, according to a ruling by the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.

The court recently decided Rose Tree Media School District’s expulsion of a Penncrest High School student after the student posted violent lyrics from a death metal band goes against the United States and Pennsylvania constitutions. Alan Dershowitz, 83, a former Harvard Law School professor, represented Epstein during the noughties and Trump during his first impeachment trial. HARRISBURG, PA — Fifty of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties have agreed to an opioid legal settlement with drug manufacturers, state Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Wednesday. The agreement, signed off on by 5 of the 6 largest counties in the state, will bring more than $1 billion Pennsylvania – including an initial $232 million in 2022.

The Bidens had been speaking with children and their parents who had dialed into a phone line run by the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, which tracks Santa Claus’ path across the globe.
