Jurupa Unified School District officials received an unconfirmed report that two Indian Hills Elementary School students were diagnosed with leprosy, which prompted them to send a letter home to parents Friday, Sept. 2.

A protest against a four-state, $3.8billion oil pipeline turned violent on Saturday after tribal officials say construction crews destroyed Native American burial and cultural sites on private land in southern North Dakota.
Morton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Donnell Preskey said four private security guards and two guard dogs were injured after several hundred protesters confronted construction crews at the site just outside the Standing Rock Sioux reservation. The California State Assembly recently passed a bill that received minimal recognition by the press, outside of the state, but has substantial negative consequences for basically everyone in the country. Once signed by Jerry Brown, the bill, known as AB 1066, will make California the only state in the entire country to provide overtime wages to ag workers after 8 hours a day or 40 hours per week. This change will add about $1BN annually to the cost of growing food in California which will ultimately be passed along to consumers. And since eating isn’t really optional, this is effectively a $1BN tax that California has decided to levy on the entire country. Worse yet, increasing food prices is essentially the most regressive form of “tax” possible given the disproportionate share of wages spent on food by low-income families. And, while you may not know it, California is an agricultural powerhouse that produces roughly 1/3 of all vegetables consumed in this country and 2/3s of the fruits and nuts. MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican immigration authorities say 424 migrants from African countries arrived at the southern state of Chiapas over two days last week.

Rodney Ivester, of Corinth, Texas, is the kind of guy you’d like as a neighbor. He maintains a tidy lawn, doesn’t make much of a racket and he flies an American flag.
About three weeks ago, Rodney decided to post another flag alongside Old Glory – to honor law enforcement. It’s a black & white version of the U.S. flag adorned with a blue stripe.

The Obama administration is withholding from Congress details about how $1.3 billion in U.S. taxpayer funds was delivered to Iran, according to conversations with lawmakers, who told the Washington Free Beacon that the administration is now stonewalling an official inquiry into the matter.
The Departments of State, Treasury, and Justice have all rebuffed a congressional probe into the circumstances surrounding the $1.3 billion payment to Iran, which is part of an additional $400 million cash payout that occurred just prior to the release of several U.S. hostages and led to accusations that the administration had paid Iran a ransom. On Monday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told Ohio police that, if elected, he would give them military weapons. He also told black and Latino voters that since they live in “war zones” they could only be safe by voting for him.
Trump met with the Akron chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, a union that has not yet endorsed a presidential candidate. He reportedly vowed to be “a cheerleader” for police if elected president, and said he would supply them with military weapons currently unavailable to them. The Pentagon has warned Syria and Russia that the US is ready to shoot down their planes, which Washington claims threaten American advisers in northern Syria.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal judge in Texas has blocked the Obama administration’s order that requires public schools to let transgender students use the bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity.

As we reported a few days ago, Bill and Hillary Clinton spent Friday night in Martha’s Vineyard celebrating Bill’s 70th birthday (posted here). We’re sure it was a grand affair, well worth the heat Obama had to take from Louisiana flood victims to attend.
Turns out the following morning, Hillary, not one to be bothered with traditional peasant forms of travel, awoke andtook her private jet just 20 miles over to Nantucket where the Rothschilds will be hosting a fundraiser. The event is open to all…well anyone who can afford the $100,000 per person price tag. Hopefully this is a sign that the whole global warming thing has been solved and we can all rest comfortably at night knowing that we’re safe from sudden, violent attacks at the hands of ManBearPig. A former Navy machinist mate who admitted taking photos inside a nuclear submarine was sentenced to a year in prison Friday, with a federal judge rebuffing a request for probation in light of authorities deciding not to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information on a private email server as secretary of state.
Kristian Saucier’s attorneys argued in a court filing last week that Clinton had been “engaging in acts similar to Mr. Saucier” with information of much higher classification. It would be “unjust and unfair for Mr. Saucier to receive any sentence other than probation for a crime those more powerful than him will likely avoid,” attorney Derrick Hogan wrote.

A California man is facing criminal charges for erecting a small dwelling off the grid on property that he owns.
Soylent CEO Rob Rhinehart purchased the 8,422-square-foot piece of land on Los Angeles’ Flat Top Hill in a city auction in December. With no electricity or water hook-ups, it sold for a cheap $21,300. Rhinehart spent a further $1,500 buying a red shipping container to place on the land and adding a portable toilet and solar power. His aim was to create a minimalist home featuring graywater recycling, solar panels, and a septic tank. Immigration judges around the country are denying the Department of Homeland Security’s attempts to deport illegal immigrants in record numbers, according to a new report.
Over the last 10 months, immigration judges opted against the department’s efforts to remove some 96,223 illegal immigrants, including criminals, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, a Syracuse University-based nonprofit. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed bipartisan-backed legislation that will punish groups that endorse a boycott of Israel in protest of its violations of Palestinian human rights. Christie, who is one of the most outspoken supporters of far-right Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, signed the bill on Tuesday.
It requires the New Jersey government to identify companies that support a boycott of Israel, raising fears that it would create a “blacklist” of institutions that back the growing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, or BDS, movement.
