The story of how cops stole $20,000 from Guillermo Espinoza, a construction worker with no criminal record, is sadly familiar in most respects: In July 2013, while driving through Arkansas on his way to Texas, Espinoza was pulled over by a state trooper who discovered a large amount of cash in the car, which he viewed as inherently suspicious. The money was seized and eventually forfeited based on vague allegations of drug-related activity. But there’s a twist: There was so little evidence of such activity that local prosecutors decided to drop the forfeiture case. The judge would not let them, and last week a state appeals court declined to review that astounding decision because Espinoza had missed a filing deadline.   Continue reading “Arkansas Trooper Steals $20,000, Because Nobody Innocent Carries That Much Cash”

The Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Should we be alarmed that the number of job cuts announced by large U.S. companies was 35 percent higher in April than it was in March?  This is definitely a case where the trend is not our friend.  According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, U.S. firms announced 65,141 job cuts during April, which represented a massive 35 percent increase over the previous month.  And so far this year overall, job cut announcements are running 24 percent higher than for the exact same period in 2015.  Meanwhile, on Thursday we learned that initial claims for unemployment benefits shot up dramatically last week.  In fact, the jump of 17,000 was the largest increase that we have seen in over a year.  Of course the U.S. economy has been slowing down for quite a while now, and many have been wondering when we would begin to see that slowdown reflected in the employment numbers.  Well, that day has now arrived.   Continue reading “The Next Employment Crisis Is Here: Job Cuts At U.S. Companies Jump 35 Percent In April”

Microsoft has made a change to an update for Windows 7 that can prevent certain systems from booting. While you might expect me to say, “good news, the software giant has fixed the problem”, in fact what Microsoft has done is switch the update from “optional”, to “recommended”. So, on some systems, it will now install, and break Windows 7 automatically.

There is good news though, and that’s you can solve the problem and get your computer working again by (can you guess?) upgrading to Windows 10. Hooray!   Continue reading “Now Microsoft is breaking Windows 7 to get users to upgrade to Windows 10”

Though stigma still surrounds the cultivation and use of cannabis, more and more people are realizing that the crop isn’t only beneficial for the environment, it may seriously help individuals who suffer from afflictions such as cancer.

In the past, True Activist has shared powerful stories of individuals healing themselves from debilitating conditions with cannabis oil. Now, a story has surfaced of a Hollywood stuntman curing his stage 4 cancer with the aid of the plant. He’s now on a mission to reduce the stigma associated with using hemp, and hopes that in the future, medical marijuana is legally available to everyone.   Continue reading “Hollywood Stuntman Claims Cannabis Oil Cured His Stage 4 Cancer”

Fascism doesn’t often sweep in overnight and take over some hapless nation’s government; rather, it gradually seeps into the cultural fabric — as is quietly taking place all around the globe, evidenced by an upsurge in sales of riot equipment that has gone largely unnoticed.

A new report from analysts with industry research group, Sandler Research, forecasts the Global Riot Control System Market for the next four years — but beyond a burgeoning market to parallel the expanding global police state, it appears world governments are also keenly aware of civilian discontent. Sandler predicts the market will have an annual growth of 3.5 percent, and makes a telling juxtaposition, emphases added, involving the United States:   Continue reading “New Report Proves US Law Enforcement Preparing for Rioting on a National Scale”

There are 55.3 million Latinos in America, nearly triple the 1980 population, and those under 18 years old are the largest group, a demographic fact likely to influence the future of the country, according to Census figures.

A new analysis from the Pew Research Center, found that the vast majority are of “Mexican origin,” and most of the younger Latinos were born in the United States to immigrants. Hispanics represent over 17 percent of the total U.S. population and 21 percent of all millennials, said Pew.   Continue reading “American future: 55 million Latinos in U.S., one-third under 18”
