Gun store owner W. Alec Dean says he was badly treated at a Staples store in Fort Myers because of the company logo on his shirt and what he calls the office supply company’s anti-gun policy. And, he said, a social media backlash against Staples supports his claim.

Experts say retail stores are often the scene of culture war flare-ups that don’t go away quickly these days – rather, they’re sometimes magnified into national stories by pervasive social media.    Continue reading “Gun store owner rips Staples office supply store”

Large mixed-use development buildings with apartments on top and businesses on the bottom are popping up all over town. Billboards line the highways telling me I should have a “roadmance” (not even kidding) with the new toll roads encircling the city that Texans never really ever wanted; future toll roads subsidizing corporate interests are in the works. Advertisements are pushing high-speed rail as hip and trendy; they are reminiscent of America 2050 goals for the future of our nation involving 11 highly condensed megaregions connected with these same rails (with support from the Rockefeller Foundation, of course).   Continue reading “Austin Leads Agenda 21 Adoption with Smart Grid, International Codes”

The world needs a public service campaign to discourage kids from eating or drinking things on dares. It almost never ends well, and sometimes it can have extremely dangerous or life-threatening results.

A teenager in Virginia recently drank an entire quart of soy sauce on a dare, and the excess of salt in his body put him in a coma and nearly killed him.   Continue reading “Soy Sauce Overdose Puts Teen In Coma”

The federal government may be secretly accessing Americans’ online videos, emails, photos and search histories – with the help of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, YouTube, PalTalk, AOL and Skype – but “the world’s most private search engine” is staunchly defending its users’ privacy and civil liberties.

StartPage.com and its sister search engine, Ixquick.com, were launched in 2006 to provide a private way for Americans to conduct Internet searches. StartPage provides a private portal to Google results, and Ixquick allows users to retrieve private results from other search engines.   Continue reading “The Big Flip-Off: Company Doesn’t Give Feds Data”

Legendary Columbia Professor Never Heard of ObamaThe Blaze – by Wayne Allyn Root

My life has crossed paths with President Obama on multiple occasions. According to Obama, we were Columbia University classmates, both Pre Law and Political Science majors in the Class of ’83. I also ran against Obama in 2008 on the Libertarian Party Presidential ticket. What are the odds?

But something about “the Obama at Columbia story” has always bothered me. Earlier in the week right here at The Blaze I wrote about having just returned from New York, where I attended my 30th Columbia University reunion. I celebrated with my esteemed classmates. Everyone except Barack Obama. As usual- he wasn’t there. Not a trace. Not a video greeting. Not a letter. I could not find any classmates who knew him.   Continue reading “Ghost of Columbia – Part II: Legendary Columbia Professor Never Heard of Obama”
