It’s hard to say whether Amazon will ever really deploy squadrons of drones to deliver customer purchases. But, according to The Wall Street Journal, its order-fulfillment plans for the fast-approaching holiday season will involve around 10,000 robots.

These robots, designed to fit into a more efficient fulfillment-center logistics scheme, are made by Kiva Systems, a company that Amazon purchased in 2012.   Continue reading “Amazon’s Warehouse Robots, at Work and Play”

The ultimate goal of the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by some Western nations is to stir public protests and oust the government, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“Western leaders publicly state that the sanctions must hurt [Russia’s] economy and stir up public protests. The West doesn’t want to change Russia’s policies. They want a regime change. Practically nobody denies that,” he told a leading think-tank in Moscow.   Continue reading “Western sanctions are aimed at regime change in Russia – Lavrov”

Friday on MSNBC’s “Ronan Farrow Daily,” former President Jimmy Carter said President Barack Obama was “right” to go around Congress and enact executive action amnesty.
Carter said, “I think he has tried every possible way to get Congress to pass a reasonable bill. The Senate on a bipartisan basis — they overwhelmingly supported the Senate version. I think President Obama worked as well as he can with the House of Representatives.”

Sweeney Gillette, a very successful cattle trader from Ontario, Oregon, had barely finished a pleasant chat with his ex-wife when his phone rang. In an agitated voice, Gillette’s attorney reported that he had just been contacted by a Malheur County deputy District Attorney who accused the rancher of “unlawfully interfering with a witness” – namely, his ex-wife.

Since the attorney called literally seconds after Gillette had hung up, the call from the deputy DA must have come in the middle of the conversation with his ex-wife, who later insisted that she hadn’t told anyone about the phone call.   Continue reading “When the Rustlers Wear Badges”

San Diego rapper Tiny Doo, who has no criminal record, may end up being held criminally liable for a series of gang-related shootings to which prosecutors admit he has no direct ties, simply because he claims to be affiliated with the same gang on hisnew album No SafetyAccording to ABC News10 San Diego, he is the first person to be charged under a California law, passed in 2000, which seeks to punish anyone who benefits in any way from gang-related crimes. In this case, prosecutors argue that Brandon Duncan, also known as Tiny Doo, should be tried along with fourteen other alleged gang members who face attempted murder charges for a series of nine shootings, even though he did not participate in the crimes, because the shootings increased the notoriety of the gang mentioned on No Safety, thus boosting his album sales.   Continue reading “Rapper, Charged Under Newly-Enforced CA Law, Faces Life in Prison for Gang-Related Song Lyrics”

It had to happen. We’ve been told for decades that gun control has curtailed violence in Great Britain. With no guns around, people who are intent on doing harm are using knives. So, of course, there is no the call for knife control.

“The new ‘Save a Life – Surrender Your Knife’ program is in full swing and police are telling us that they have joined forces with an already growing trend in the United Kingdom to ban ‘pointy’ knives.”   Continue reading “Great Britain Calling for Knife Control”

In 1967, at the height of the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War, the Israeli Air Force launched an unprovoked attack on the USS Liberty, a US Navy spy ship that was monitoring the conflict from the safety of international waters in the Mediterranean.

Israeli jet fighters hit the vessel with rockets, cannon fire and napalm, before three Israeli torpedo boats moved in to launch a second more devastating attack. Though she did not sink, the Liberty was badly damaged. Thirty-four US servicemen and civilian analysts were killed, another 171 were wounded.   Continue reading “The Day Israel Attacked America”
