When Michelle Obama visited a Walmart in Springfield, Missouri, a few weeks ago to praise the company’s efforts to sell healthier food, she did not say why she chose a store in Springfield of all cities. But, in ways that Obama surely did not intend, it was a fitting choice. This Midwestern city provides a chilling look at where Walmart wants to take our food system.    Continue reading “Walmart’s Death Grip on Groceries Is Making Life Worse for Millions of People (Hard Times USA)”

Activist Post – by Nicholas West

A lot of attention has been paid recently to the massive buildup of lethal weapons purchased by DHS and the ongoing government secrecy about the stockpile. When combined with the increasing rhetoric against anyone professing a love of independence, there is rightful concern that this weapons hoard will be turned inward upon the American “Patriot.”

Many argue that, in the end, most military and police will not wage war on their own, even despite overwhelming evidence that they are training for such a scenario, i.e. using “no more hesitation” pictures of elderly men, pregnant women and even children as target practice. Add to that the recent letter issued from a retired U.S. Army Captain that, yes, DHS is prepping for war on Americans, and only cognitive dissonance remains for not answering the wake-up call.   Continue reading “Latest Non-Lethal Weapons Arsenal … That Can Kill”

January 28, 2013 – NORTH KOREA – Hungry parents in North Korea have been caught eating their children to avoid starvation, according to reports. One father is said to have been executed by firing squad for killing his two kids for food. And it has sparked fears there could be further cases of cannibalism in the country.

The Sunday Times told how undercover reporters recorded several horror stories from inside the poverty-stricken nation. They included one man who dug up his grandchild’s corpse to eat and another who boiled his child and ate the flesh.   Continue reading “Starving North Koreans ‘are forced to eat their children’”

Body modification has taken on vastly different meanings over the years, from wearing makeup and piercing our ears to getting tattoos and going to tanning salons. As the Verge and futurist blog i09 have reported, body modification now even covers “biohackers” who seek to make changes to their bodies so they can gain additional senses.

This new form of body modification may be heading mainstream — and fast. Implants are becoming less taboo, and many have talked to Gizmodo and NPR about the advantages of magnet-studded fingers so they can sense electricity. Medical researchers recently made a prototype of a device that’s implanted under your skin, analyzes your blood concentration, and sends that information to your mobile device. There’s even a Barcelona-based Cyborg Foundation dedicated entirely to the production of new senses.   Continue reading “5 Body Modifications That Can Give You A Sixth Sense”

I admit it. I’ve copped this directly from Dan Mitchell but it’s so good that I hope you’ll forgive me. I’ve tidied some of it up a little bit for your reading pleasure:

PRAGUE, (SANA)- Ex-CNN reporter Amber Lyon revealed that during her work for the channel she received orders to send false news and exclude some others which the US administration did not favor with the aim to create a public opinion in favor of launching an aggression on Iran and Syria.

Lyon was quoted by the Slovak main news website as saying that the mainstream US media outlets intentionally work to create a propaganda against Iran to garner public opinion’s support for a military invasion against it.   Continue reading “Ex-CNN Reporter: I Received Orders to Manipulate News to Demonize Syria and Iran”

This morning Sky reported that the levy on balances over 100k€ had now increased to 60% as per my prediction that it would increase from the 40% to 50%. It just shows you should never underestimate the insensitivity of the Eurocrats to the plight of ordinary people.

Also on cue the human interest story appears in todays DT Money headlined , “Cyprus Grabs Family’s Fortune”. The sold their villa on the island but now cannot bring the 200000€ back to Britain. I warned abou the inverse of this two days ago for would be purchasers. It works both ways as funds are held in Cyprus lawyers accounts with a Cyprus bank will be aggregated in the client escrow account and so subject to the full 60% theft.   Continue reading “Cyprus just got worse”

I consider myself a homesteader. I live on a small developing farm with my husband. Like many people, we have little cash and every bit that we do have goes back into making us more self-sufficient.

Living on a developing farm and having lots of goals/needs and being short on cash have made me much more creative when it comes to obtaining what we need for our farm. One thing that has worked surprisingly well for me is bartering – an exchange of goods and/or services that is beneficial to all parties involved. Bartering amongst community members is satisfying on so many levels.   Continue reading “The Benefits of Bartering and the Rules to Being Successful”

JERUSALEM — Israel has revealed very little about the man known as Prisoner X, an Australian-Israeli who was jailed here in 2010 after apparently getting caught in a web of espionage and intrigue, other than how he died: alone, by asphyxiation, after hanging himself in the shower of his cell.

An Israeli prison guard stood outside Ayalon prison near Tel Aviv, where Mr. Zygier was found hanging in his cell.   Continue reading “Prisoner X of Israel Is Said to Have Exposed Top Spies”

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A judge on Friday dismissed a “substantial portion” of claims facing a number of banks in a barrage of lawsuits accusing them of interest-rate rigging.

Dozens of federal agents scoured the family property of YouTube celebrity Kyle ‘FPSRussia’ Myers while searching for illegal explosives and possibly weapons, but left empty-handed.

The noise made by popular YouTube channel FPSRussia – famous for destroying man-made mechanisms with the most advanced firearms – has finally been heard in federal quarters. On Wednesday, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) agents accompanied by FBI agents launched an operation at two locations in Georgia, looking for illegal explosives allegedly used by FPSRussia to produce its YouTube clips.   Continue reading “FPSRussia compound raid leaves 40-plus ATF, FBI agents empty-handed”

Law enforcement intelligence-processing fusion centers have long come under attack for spying on Americans. The Arkansas director wanted to clarify the truth: centers only spies on some Americans – those who appear to be a threat to the government.

In trying to clear up the ‘misconceptions’ about the conduct of fusion centers, Arkansas State Fusion Center Director Richard Davis simply confirmed Americans’ fears: the center does in fact spy on Americans – but only on those who are suspected to be ‘anti-government’.   Continue reading “Fusion center director: We don’t spy on Americans, just anti-government Americans”

A thirteen year old girl was suspended from a Boston school this week for bringing a butter knife with her to cut up a pear for lunch, in the latest crackdown on kids taking anything vaguely resembling a weapon to school with them.

As reported by Fox Boston, Morgan LaPlaume, a Wamsutta Middle School student, was suspended for a day over the incident. The girl needed the knife to cut up the fruit because she has braces and cannot eat the fruit whole.   Continue reading “Middle School Girl Suspended Over Butter Knife”

These supremely weird, coiled cloud formations were recently captured by a satellite scoping out the Prince Edward Islands. No, not the one in Canada, the ones in the south Indian Ocean. Are they the product of a fast moving craft? The infamous HAARP program? A government weather machine spinning up? Or something else?   Continue reading “Highly Bizarre “Cloud Coils” Photographed Over Prince Edward Islands”

The Final United Nations (UN) Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) failed to reach an agreement by consensus yesterday.  And this hardly comes as any surprise.  Going into the Conference, this author estimated the probability of not reaching consensus to be 75%.  The reasons for this were detailed in a pre-conference Executive Brief published on Amazon.com.  Here is a model to help illustrate how things could and have played out:   Continue reading “Arms Trade Treaty Conference Fails to Reach Consensus, Final Draft Goes to UN General Assembly for Vote”

Ammunition is in short supply. The demand has increased dramatically which takes its toll on the market. However, the Department of Homeland Security doesn’t seem to be affected by the demand at all. In fact, it’s got over $37 million of tax payer money to spend on brass and lead for fiscal year 2013 and it’s soliciting again for nearly 90,000 round in various calibers. This is in addition to their own claims of having more than 260 million rounds of ammunition back in November 2012.   Continue reading “DHS Solicits For More Various Caliber Ammunition”
