A National Rifle Association affiliate says Massachusetts is “abusing” law-abiding citizens by delaying the issuance of firearm licenses beyond the time frame outlined by state law.

The Gun Owners Action League (GOAL), which represents 16,000 members in Massachusetts and is the official state affiliate of the NRA, reports that many people applying for licenses have been experiencing long delays.    Continue reading “NRA: Massachusetts ‘abusing’ citizens by slow-walking gun license approval”

Ever since Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis, his “common man” approach to the world has impressed observers and made many Catholics feel closer to their church. For just about as long, activists in and outside of the Catholic Church have tried to claim him as a voice for the Left.

Despite some early confusion introduced by an interviewer with an agenda, the pope’s words and actions relating to abortion, gay marriage, contraception, the ordination of women, and more clearly have taken him out of that camp as far as social doctrine is concerned. Economic policy, however, seems still up for grabs.   Continue reading “Rush Limbaugh and the Pope”

Mayor Michael Bloomberg was in Bermuda on Sunday when a train derailed in the Bronx, the most recent time that the mayor has been out of town when a major incident in New York City occurred, a person familiar with the matter said.

Mr. Bloomberg, who steps down on Dec. 31 after 12 years at City Hall, was playing golf Sunday at Bermuda’s majestic Mid Ocean golf club, a person who spotted the mayor said. The Metro-North Railroad train derailment — killing four people and injuring more than 60 others — occurred at roughly 7:20 a.m.  New York time.   Continue reading “Bloomberg in Bermuda During Derailment”

Hollywood, Fla.  Standing here on the streets of Hollywood with two comely Obamacare cheerleaders by my side, I’m feeling fired up and ready to go. I’m feeling like the change I’ve been waiting for. I’m feeling like whatever Obama cliché you can think of. And all I want to say, like the late Todd Beamer before me, is, “Let’s roll.” Or more like, “Let’s enroll.” Because much as Beamer, God rest his soul, took on the terrorists who tried to take down America, we are now in a similar cataclysmic fight: the fight to guarantee that every American has the right to buy overpriced health insurance on a glitchy website, under threat of punitive tax penalties.    Continue reading “Hard Sell: Going door-to-door for Obamacare”

Yesterday, while the rest of the world was captivated by a twerking turkey, Ashton Kutcher faced off with Wal-Mart over the retail giant’s low wages. On Twitter. Because of course it was on Twitter.

The Twitter showdown started when Kutcher tweeted criticism of an Ohio Wal-Mart’s holiday drive for its own employees who are facing “unforeseen hardships.”   Continue reading “Ashton Kutcher Stands Up for Wal-Mart Workers Rights… What?”

Amid all the privacy concerns about cellphone tracking, one important group is arguing that location data isn’t precise enough: emergency responders.

Police and others say 911 dispatchers are having trouble sending help to callers who use cellphones. The reason: unlike a landline, cellphones provide just a rough estimate—with a possible radius of a few hundred yards—of the caller’s location.   Continue reading “Cellphones Leave Gaps for Emergency Services”

In the 2012 highest-grossing documentary, “2016: Obama’s America,” political commentator Dinesh D’Souza made some startling predictions about the second term of Barack Obama – and now he has released a fresh, eight-minute addition to the film revealing how the president plans to “take America down a notch.”

D’Souza explains, “One of the predictions is that Obama would spend money promiscuously to raise the debt in virtual indifference to the impact of the debt on American citizens. In fact, Obama has been racking up the debt at the rate of $1 trillion a year. The debt has doubled in Obama’s term in office.”   Continue reading “‘2016’: Obama plans to ‘take America down’”

WEB Notes: You really want to take note when the big boys make moves like this. We would like to add the official unemployment rate is a joke and it has not stabilized. There are currently a “record high 91.5 million people not included in the labor force.” There are only 320 million men, woman and children in the United States. The unemployment rate is far higher than what we are being told.

A pregnant woman has had her baby forcibly removed by caesarean section by social workers.

Essex social services obtained a High Court order against the woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and her child to be taken from her womb.

I wrote previously on the threat from ‘HIT Teams’ initially in the post ‘The Home Invasion Dilemma – Discussion & Scenarios‘ and then the follow up post ‘Solutions – Follow Up to The Home Invasion Dilemma‘.  Those posts were over at the old blog site but have been copied to this one. Links in those posts may take you back to the old blog.

In the comment section on my recent post ‘Sailing Away – Comment’ Matt Bracken added a comment that made me want to revisit the whole home invasion team (HIT)/ SWAT attack thing. This is added to the fact that I am currently reading Matt’s book ‘Enemies Foreign and Domestic’ and that has a bit of SWAT action from the bad guys in the story. Great book. Here is part of Matt’s comment:   Continue reading “More on the SWAT Threat”

I interrupt my regularly scheduled programming of old-school tactics and tacti-cool bashing for the following:

I am writing tonight to comment on Matt Bracken’ s recent essay about getting on a sail boat and sailing away. H/T to WRSA, HERE.

Grrrr. Bracken! You know how to hit low! This comes for me just as I am reading Matt’s ‘Enemies Foreign and Domestic’ and the main character has just raised the mast on his sailboat, in preparation to flee the States, which I am sure is not actually going to be allowed to happen as part of the plot….   Continue reading “Sailing Away – Comment”
