Gun Watch – by Dean Weingarten

Current Nebraska law grants broad powers to the governors, allowing them to ban the sale or transport of firearms during declared emergencies.   Police and other government agents confiscated thousands of guns in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana.  Some troops refused to confiscate guns.

A current scandal in Canada involves the Royal Canadian Mounted Police breaking down doors to confiscate firearms in High River Canada after they had cordoned off the town during a flood.   Continue reading “NE: Bill to Prevent Ban on Gun Transport During Emergencies”

Four-plus hours of “frank” closed-door negotiations between Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov ended today with no deal, and the only agreement was that the two sides really want to reach some sort of agreement.

The issues are the same as ever, with the US demanding Russia withdraw from the Crimea, and insisting the protester-installed interim government is the “legitimate government” of Ukraine.   Continue reading “Kerry, Russian FM Deadlocked After Hours of Talks”

Aren’t the cops supposed to protect and serve?

Two Clinton, Oklahoma parents called police back in December 2013 because they were worried their 18-year-old son, diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder, might harm himself.

Apparently he did not have to harm himself. Moments after police entered the house, they shot the boy dead.   Continue reading “Why Did Officers Have To Shoot This Teen Nine Times?”

Three ATF officials let a key figure in the flubbed Fast & Furious gun-running operation collect his government paycheck while on leave and working for financial giant JP Morgan, a Justice Department report has found.

The Washington Times reported Monday that the department’s inspector general’s findings, released last week, determined that former ATF official William McMahon’s bosses “exercised poor judgment” in approving his paid leave while he worked elsewhere, and created potential conflicts of interest.    Continue reading “Justice Dept: ATF Paid Agent on Leave While He Worked Elsewhere”

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) (Reuters/Shannon Stapleton)RT News

Following Congress’ decision to approve a $1 billion aid package to Ukraine last week, former libertarian Congressman Ron Paul has published an op-ed strongly criticizing it as a bad deal for both American taxpayers and Ukrainian citizens.

In the column, published by Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, the iconic libertarian said the bill effectively puts the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in charge of the Ukrainian economy, needlessly directs money towards “democracy promotion” and additional sanctions on Russia. He also accused the US government of ignoring its own role in the crisis currently unfolding in Eastern Europe.   Continue reading “Ron Paul: Ukraine aid bill is bad deal for all”

A Senate report found that CIA officials lied to the government and public about its post-9/11 torture program, most notably by distorting intelligence gleaned from traditional interrogations as that attained by far more brutal methods.

The Washington Post reported Monday that the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report outlines a long list of “unsubstantiated claims” from CIA officials in the agency’s pursuit of a global torture regime that resulted in little, if any, substantive intelligence, according to US officials who have reviewed the document.   Continue reading “CIA lied about torture’s effectiveness, according to unreleased Senate report”

Private prison company GEO Group coaxed around $1 million out of Arizona Republicans, despite assertions by the state Department of Corrections that the money is not needed based on the state’s contract with GEO Group.

The last-minute funding attempt came late Friday, when Arizona House Appropriations Chairman John Kavanagh (R) added $900,000 into a budget proposal after GEO Group lobbyists convinced him that the company was not seeing enough profit from emergency inmate beds it supplies Arizona’s prisons in Phoenix and Florence.   Continue reading “Arizona Republicans try to pump $1 mil into private prison for non-existent inmates”

Orem, Utah – Residents of Utah’s Provo-Orem Metropolitan Area live in a valley blessed with breathtaking mountain vistas and a dynamic local economy. Unfortunately, one of the major local industries involves manufacturing “crimes” out of trivial incidents, and processing harmless people through the criminal “justice” system.

Several weeks ago, a diminutive 48-year old woman named Ginger Anderson, who is a student and employee of Utah Valley University in Orem, was assaulted and abducted by campus pseudo-cops for the supposed offense of fixing incorrect instructions on a campus sign. Although this was described as “criminal mischief,” it was actually within her job description: as an employee of UVU’s information center, she is assigned to direct students to their classes.   Continue reading “Tales of the Happy Valley “Gestapo””

All governments had better open their eyes for we are on the brink of a major convergence between both the Cycle of Civil Unrest, Civil War & Revolution and International War. Both of these models converge and as I pointed out at the Cycles of War Conference, this is the first time we have seen this convergence since the 1700s.   Continue reading “Martin Armstrong Warns This Is The Age Of Civil Unrest”

Has the United States ever experienced a time when a foreign nation has attempted to buy up so much of our land all at once?  As you will read about in this article, the Chinese are on a real estate buying spree all over America.  In fact, in some cases large chunks of land are actually being given to them.  Yes, you read that correctly.  China is on the way to becoming the dominant land owner in the entire country, and that is starting to alarm a lot of people.  Do we really want a foreign superpower to physically own so much of our territory?   Continue reading “The Chinese Are Acquiring Large Chunks Of Land In Communities All Over America”

“The Israel Project”, a US media advocacy group, has produced a revised training manual to help the worldwide Zionist movement win the propaganda war, keep their ill-gotten territorial gains and persuade international audiences to accept that their crimes are necessary and conform to “shared values” between Israel and the civilized West.

It’s a clever document.   Continue reading “How low will Israel stoop to win the propaganda war?”
