MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — A 14-year-old girl who was wounded when a student opened fire inside a Washington state high school has died, raising the death toll in the shooting to three, including the gunman.

Gia Soriano died Sunday night, more than two days after she was shot, officials at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett said. “We are devastated by this senseless tragedy,” her family said in a statement, read at a news conference by Dr. Joanne Roberts. “Gia is our beautiful daughter, and words cannot express how much we will miss her.”   Continue reading “Third student dies in Washington school shooting”

Medical marijuana patients living in Connecticut have been waiting for a long time to get safe access to their medicine. It looks like their wait is finally over. Last week, an announcement was made that the first crop of legal medical marijuana is ready for shipment around the state. This happens almost two years after the state legalized the use of medical marijuana. A 5-year-old boy who returned home from Guinea Saturday is being tested for Ebola at New York City’s Bellevue Hospital, officials said today. Preliminary results will be available within the next 12 hours.

He once described those who fled Israel as a “cascade of wimps” and a “fallout of cowards.” Ravit Hecht, a columnist with Israel’s oldest daily newspaper, Ha’aretz, has blamed ultranationalists for the exodus, and there may well be substance to her claim. “Berlin is a lovely city, but it is sucking away all the forces that we desperately need here, especially now,” she wrote.
