JPMorgan, the largest U.S. bank by assets, said it would cut 3,000 more jobs than previously expected in its retail banking division.

The bank said it would reduce 4,000 jobs in its card, merchant services and auto unit, up from the 2,000 previously announced. The bank is also cutting 7,000 jobs in its mortgage banking unit, up from 6,000.

JPMorgan will have eliminated 27,000 jobs by the year-end from its consumer bank unit over two years, even after additions for more risk controls and regulatory compliance.   Continue reading “JPMorgan to cut 3,000 more jobs in retail bank unit”

There may be another round of layoffs at Remington Arms, the venerable gun manufacturer in the Mohawk Valley.

Herkimer County Legislature chairman Vincent Bono told YNN and WKTV in Utica that a local jobs placement agency has been informed about the layoffs, but he didn’t know when and how many.

A message left with Remington Arms, which had about 1,300 workers at the plant, was not immediately returned.   Continue reading “More layoffs reported at Remington Arms”

Gas prices here in north west New Jersey are $2.59/gallon for regular at

NEW YORK (AP) — The average price of gasoline will be below $3 a gallon in 2015, the government predicted Wednesday. If the sharply lower estimate holds true, U.S. consumers will save $61 billion on gas compared with this year.

In a monthly report, the Energy Department reduced its forecast for global oil prices next year by $18 a barrel to $83. Weakness in the global economy will crimp demand for oil, while production in places like the U.S. keeps rising.   Continue reading “Gas to average under $3 in 2015, government says”

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) — The U.S. government now patrols nearly half the Mexican border by drones alone in a largely unheralded shift to control desolate stretches where there are no agents, camera towers, ground sensors or fences, and it plans to expand the strategy to the Canadian border.

It represents a significant departure from a decades-old approach that emphasizes boots on the ground and fences. Since 2000, the number of Border Patrol agents on the 1,954-mile border more than doubled to surpass 18,000 and fencing multiplied nine times to 700 miles.   Continue reading “Drones patrol half of Mexico border”

The US House is expected to vote and pass legislation on Friday that would finally sanction the controversial Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, which would move heavy crude oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.

Republican US Rep. Bill Cassidy introduced the House’s Keystone XL legislation shortly after his opponent in the still-undecided Louisiana Senate race – incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu – introduced a measure in the Upper Chamber. Both legislators want to be seen as a key player in pushing the pipeline through Congress ahead of their Dec. 6 runoff election.   Continue reading “US House poised to approve Keystone XL tar sands pipeline”

The New York plastic surgeon who developed the “insta breast,” a saline injection into the breast that gives the impression of implants for 24 hours, is now working on a method that would last two to three weeks.   Continue reading “‘Vacation Breasts’ May Be Next Big Thing in Plastic Surgery”

Under Texas Bill, Cops To Collect Traffic Fines On the Spot Via Credit or Debit CardInfowars – by Adan Salazar

A house bill recently introduced in the Texas legislature would allow police officers to collect immediate payment from “defendants” for Class C misdemeanor traffic fines “by use of a credit or debit card,” completely circumventing the rule of law and citizens’ due process rights.

H.B. No. 121, introduced on Monday by State Rep. Allen Fletcher, concerns “an alternative means of payment of certain criminal fines and court costs.”   Continue reading “Under Texas Bill, Cops to Collect Traffic Fines on the Spot Via Credit or Debit Card”

Barack Obama behind Resolute Desk in the Oval Office - Public DomainThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Barack Obama is secretly negotiating the largest international trade agreement in history, and the mainstream media in the United States is almost completely ignoring it.  If this treaty is adopted, it will be the most important step toward a one world economic system that we have ever seen.  The name of this treaty is “the Trans-Pacific Partnership”, and the text of the treaty is so closely guarded that not even members of Congress know what is in it.  Right now, there are 12 countries that are part of the negotiations: the United States, Canada, Australia, Brunei, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.  These nations have a combined population of 792 million people and account for an astounding 40 percent of the global economy.  And it is hoped that the EU, China and India will eventually join as well.  This is potentially the most dangerous economic treaty of our lifetimes, and yet there is very little political debate about it in this country.   Continue reading “Obama’s Secret Treaty Would Be The Most Important Step Toward A One World Economic System”

Monsanto has entered into a settlement agreement with soft white wheat farmers in the Pacific Northwest that resolves a number of lawsuits related to the discovery last year of genetically-modified wheat on a farm in Eastern Oregon and subsequent temporary limits on certain exports of soft white wheat.

Genetically engineered wheat is not approved for U.S. farming, but was found in Oregon in 2013 prompting Japan and South Korea to temporarily suspend some wheat orders.   Continue reading “Monsanto Settles With Farmers Over Genetically-Modified Wheat”

Long before a Shell Petroleum Development Company pipeline spilled up to 21 million gallons of oil in southern Nigeria, employees warned the company that the same pipeline was at risk of leaking, according to internal documents seen by the BBC and reported Wednesday.

The documents, also seen by The Guardian, show that the company received warnings at least two years before the spills that the Trans Niger Pipeline — then more than 30 years old — was of “immediate and utmost concern” and should be replaced.   Continue reading “Shell Ignored Faulty Pipeline Warnings Before Massive Nigeria Oil Spills, Documents Show”

Who is he?The Common Sense Show – by Dave Hodges

How does a man get elected President after serving less than one full term as a U.S. Senator? Does being a community activist/antagonist qualify one for the highest office in the land? Were the Soviet defectors correct in that Obama is the manifestation of a multi-generational plot to bring America to her knees? It is easy to comprehend how and why Putin would want to destroy America. But is Obama is his accomplice in this mission which could imperil all of us?

Former FBI Weatherman Task Force supervisor, Max Noel, noted that the FBI utilized a CARL test when it conducted background checks on various suspects. The acronym CARL stands for Character, Associates, Reputation, and Loyalty is used to assess candidates fitness to hold the highest office in the country.
