SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) — Two parents and three of their children were found dead in a home near Provo, and authorities said early Sunday they were trying to determine the cause of the deaths.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The widespread mistrust of law enforcement that was exposed by the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black man in Missouri exists in too many other communities and is having a corrosive effect on the nation, particularly on its children, President Barack Obama says. He blames the feeling of wariness on persistent racial disparities in the administration of justice.
Obama said these misgivings only serve to harm communities that are most in need of effective law enforcement. “It makes folks who are victimized by crime and need strong policing reluctant to go to the police because they may not trust them,” he said Saturday night in an address at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual awards dinner. FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — A Ferguson police officer was shot in the arm Saturday night after encountering two men at a community center who ran from him and then opened fire during a foot chase, authorities said.
St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a media briefing early Sunday that the officer approached the men around 9:10 p.m. because the community center was closed. A Tulsa police officer who was suspended and punished for refusing to attend Muslim religious services at a local mosque that has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood is suing his employer for ordering him to attend over his religious objections.
Even worse, the mosque the officer was order to attend is connected to an Imam who is an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and has been recorded proudly making numerous anti-American statements over the years.
In yet another example of the self-immolation marking the end of western culture, Captain Paul Fields of the Tulsa, Oklahoma police force was suspended and later punished further for refusing to attend the mosque as well as refusing to order any of the officers under him to do so against their religious beliefs. Traditionally, Republicans are supposed to be against the redistribution of wealth in the USA. But it seems times may be changing with at least three purportedly conservative leaders in Congress suddenly advocating for at least some income redistribution.
According to Fortune magazine three major congressional Republican leaders are floating plans that call for some sort of redistribution.

The Sandy Hook Advisory Commission (SHAC), consisting of 16 educators, local and state officials, and “behavioral experts,” was created 18 months ago by Governor Dannel Malloy after 20-year-old Adam Lanza committed the Connecticut mass shooting that transfixed the nation in December 2012. Lanza, “described as being ‘dark and disturbed’ before his death … coldly murdered his own mother in their expensive home near Newtown, Connecticut. In the face of an Ebola outbreak, the government should be deploying the military at all border entry points and in airports for the purpose of establishing quarantine zones for passengers suspected of exposure to the Ebola virus. All flights, to and from Africa, should be banned from entering U.S. airspace. Instead of protecting America, this administration is sending 3,000 soldiers, untrained in dealing with Ebola outbreaks, to Africa for reasons that nobody can seemingly identify? Why? We continue to leave our southern border completely open and Ebola, in the form of a bio-terror weapon can and will be brought into the United States. Again, I ask why? In what is more proof that the NATO operation against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is merely Libya 2.0, the Obama administration is now stating that it is open to the possibility of establishing a “no-fly zone” over Syria.
The statements, made by both Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and General Martin E. Dempsey, are supposed to hinge upon an agreement with Turkey, that is itself calling for a “buffer zone,” one of the wishes of NATO since the very beginning of the Syrian crisis. Update 9/26/14: Recently Apple has announced that it is providing basic encryption on mobile devices that they cannot bypass, even in response to a request from law enforcement. Google has promised to take similar steps in the near future. Predictably, law enforcement has responded with howls of alarm.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A man who was shot after he beheaded one woman and attacked another at an Oklahoma food processing plant from which he had just been fired has regained consciousness and has been interviewed by detectives, police said Saturday.
Alton Nolen, 30, remains hospitalized in stable condition following Thursday’s attack at the Vaughan Foods plant in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said. He said Nolen will be charged with first-degree murder and assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and that he may also face federal charges. A “swarm” of more than 600 earthquakes in just 24 hours struck the Mammoth Lake region of California, east of the Sierra Nevada mountains, between Thursday and Friday morning.

SANAA (Reuters) – An al Qaeda splinter group said it launched a rocket toward the U.S. embassy in Sanaa on Saturday, wounding several guards, to retaliate for a purported U.S. drone strike in a northern province of Yemen the day before.

On Friday morning, police in Moore, Oklahoma released the identity of the suspect in the brutal beheading of a woman at her workplace: Alton Nolen, who now goes by Jah’Keem Yisrael. Nolen is a convert to Islam, and local press reports that he had attempted to convert other employees at Vaughan Foods, where the murder took place.
Yisrael is a graduate of Idabel High School in nearby Idabel, Oklahoma, about four hours southeast from Moore where the attack occurred. Nolen was a football player and, by available accounts, not a religious person at the time. According to AllThingsD, FreedomPop has been amassing a pile of refurbished phones that once ran on Sprint’s 4G WiMax network, such as the Samsung Galaxy SII and HTC Evo 4G, and plans to sell them for under $200 with no contract. In exchange, FreedomPop subscribers will get 500 MB of data and 200 voice minutes (via VoIP) per month, plus unlimited text messages.
