The plant will be built in the southern Jordanian port of Aqaba on the Red Sea and will desalinate water to be shared by Israelis and Palestinians. The brine that is a byproduct of the process will be sent north in a 112-mile (180-km) pipeline to the Dead Sea.     Continue reading “Jordan, Israel agree $900 million Red Sea-Dead Sea project”

A military judge has put the oft-delayed 9/11 trial on hold until the Department of Defense walks back an order requiring the judges presiding over the case to move to Guantanamo Bay in order to proceed with the trial.

The Defense Department’s interference stems from a controversial order issued in January requiring the judges in three active terror trials to relocate to the US base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. It would also strip military judges of other duties, including presiding over US service members’ court martials.   Continue reading “Military judge halts 9/11 trial citing Defense Dept. overreach”

LONDON (AP) — A London-based Muslim lobbying group says there are “striking similarities” between the masked militant known as “Jihadi John” and a London man named Mohammed Emwazi.

Emwazi has been identified by news organizations as the masked militant with a British accent shown in beheading videos released by the Islamic State group in Syria. CAGE, which works with Muslims in conflict with British intelligence services, said Thursday its research director, Asim Qureshi, saw strong similarities but due to the hood won by the militant, “there was no way he could be 100 percent certain.”     Continue reading “Muslim group: ‘Jihadi John’ resembles UK man Mohammed Emwazi”

Another round of snowy and icy weather led to school closings, dangerous driving conditions and power outages Thursday across the South and even delayed a Georgia execution.

A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain fell across the Gulf Coast states, the Carolinas and the D.C. area. This system may also bring severe thunderstorms to parts of Georgia and Florida, forecasters said. Already parts of northern Alabama have seen more than 10 inches of heavy, wet snow, causing tree damage and power outages.   Continue reading “New round of winter weather dumps more snow on the South”

As the I-Team learned, it all began with confusion over a license plate on a classic car. A highway patrol dash camera recorded a trooper stating over a loudspeaker: “Driver! Thanks to “our” Main Stream Media…well, I suppose any left-liberals in the audience would regard them that way…the Nixon Administration’s “enemies list” is a notorious, even legendary item. There’s some irony in that, for it’s been stated by numerous Nixon White House staffers that if such a list did exist, President Nixon never spoke of it and probably never saw it. All the same, the open hostility between the Nixonites and the media makes the suggestion of such a list plausible, whether or not it was real.   Continue reading “The “New Class” Part 2: The Enemies List”

Janet Yellen is very alarmed that some members of Congress want to conduct a comprehensive audit of the Federal Reserve for the first time since it was created.  If the Fed is doing everything correctly, why should Yellen be alarmed?  What does she have to hide?  During testimony before Congress on Tuesday, she made “central bank independence” sound like it was the holy grail.  Even though every other government function is debated politically in this country, Yellen insists that what the Federal Reserve does is “too important” to be influenced by the American people.  Does any other government agency ever dare to make that claim?  But of course the Federal Reserve is not a government agency.  It is a private banking cartel that has far more power over our money and our economy than anyone else does.  And later on in this article I am going to share with you dozens of reasons why Congress should shut it down.   Continue reading “Janet Yellen Is Freaking Out About ‘Audit The Fed’ – Here Are 100 Reasons Why She Should Be”

WASHINGTON – Just seven months ago, D.C. was the only place in the country that did not allow anyone to legally carry a gun outside the home. A federal court ruled that violated the Second Amendment. So now, the police department is issuing carry permits to a few people.
