ATLANTA (AP) — Thomas Ford, the actor who played Martin Lawrence’s best friend Tommy Strawn on the hit ’90s sitcom “Martin,” died Wednesday in Atlanta. He was 52. The actor played the level-headed pal of Lawrence on “Martin” for the show’s entire five-year run. One running joke was about his apparent lack of employment, prompting the catch phrase: “You don’t got no job, Tommy!”

HONOLULU (AP) — A group of Hawaii residents want to change local rules for issuing commercial fishing licenses and make the process more transparent after an Associated Press investigation found that hundreds of undocumented fishermen work in the fleet.

The UK bank servicing RT has given notice that it will close the broadcaster’s accounts, without explanation. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has reacted by saying it seems that in leaving the EU, London also left behind any freedom of speech obligations.

A thousand more people have been shot in Chicago this year compared with the same time last year after a weekend that saw eight people killed and at least 40 wounded, according to police and data compiled by the Tribune.

At least 3,475 people had been shot in the city as of shortly after midnight Monday compared with 2,441 people shot this time last year, an increase of 1,034, according to Tribune data. HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (AP) — A local Republican Party office in North Carolina was torched by a flammable device and someone spray-painted an anti-GOP slogan referring to “Nazi Republicans” on a nearby wall, authorities said Sunday.

A bottle filled with flammable liquid was thrown through the window of the Orange County Republican Party headquarters overnight, according to a news release from the town of Hillsborough. Word for word from the Cornell Law Library Former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasey tells MSNBC that not only is Hillary Clinton’s private email server illegal, it “disqualifies” her from holding any federal office. Very specifically points to one federal law, Title 18. Section 2071. For those of us who do not have United States Code committed to memory, here’s what it says:

A Connecticut judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit filed by the families of some of the 26 young children and adults killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in 2012, saying the maker of the rifle used in the attack had “broad immunity” under federal law.

COOS BAY, Ore. – A hospital in Coos Bay quarantined its emergency room after a 78-year-old patient, her caregiver, two sheriff’s deputies and a hospital employee all began having hallucinations.

HOUSTON – A homeowner shot two men who had assaulted people at his Fort Bend County home early Saturday, killing one of the men, deputies said.

The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 15500 block of Schumann Lane.

According to Fort Bend County deputies, the two men, identified as 24-year-old Hashem Abu Amarah and 20-year-old Faisal Abu Amarah, walked up to people who lived at the home and assaulted them.
