CARACAS, Venezuela — A powerful earthquake has shaken eastern Venezuela, causing buildings to be evacuated in the capital of Caracas.

Federal investigators found San Jose tech giant Cisco discriminated against American workers by favoring visa-carrying foreign nationals, according to a new report.
The U.S. Department of Labor concluded that Cisco “secured visas for foreign workers instead of hiring U.S. citizens for certain jobs and paid the visa holders at a lower rate than their American counterparts,” legal-news website Bloomberg Law reported Monday, citing unnamed sources said to be familiar with the probe. A plane is stuck in mid air over New Jersey, attempting to land after blowing two of its tires off during takeoff.
The plane reportedly took off around 10.50 am on Tuesday from New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport, bound for London Luton Airport in the UK. Two of the aircraft’s tires blew off, and the plane is now circling Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Massachusetts, preparing to make an emergency landing, ABC7 reported. Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman met Monday with US President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser John Bolton in Jerusalem, and praised the Trump administration for giving Israel “significant maneuvering room” to operate against its enemies.
The two met in Jerusalem following Bolton’s meeting earlier in the day with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which the two bemoaned the “wretched” Iran nuclear deal and called for stepped-up global pressure on Tehran to curb its military activities. Citizens of Gainesville, VA, are reportedly being made to pay for Amazon’s $172 million power line installation, after local protesters successfully fought the lines being installed through their properties and a Civil War battlefield.
“For a little while earlier this year, it seemed as though 87-year-old Rosie Thomas and her neighbors in the small town of Gainesville, Va., had beaten Amazon. Amidst a tightening economic noose and now nearly weekly war of words with the Trump administration, Iran has just rolled out with its first 100% domestically-produced fighter jet.
Iranian state television aired footage of President Hassan Rouhani sitting in the ‘Kowsar’ fighter aircraft, according to Tasnim News Agency, in an unveiling ceremony held after the jet completed a successful test flight in Tehran on Tuesday, which is National Defense Industry Day in the country. Hackers linked to Russia’s government tried to target the websites of two right-wing U.S. think-tanks, suggesting they were broadening their attacks in the build-up to November elections, Microsoft said.
The software giant said it thwarted the attempts last week by taking control of sites that hackers had designed to mimic the pages of The International Republican Institute and The Hudson Institute.
