Authorities responded to another train derailment in a small northwest Iowa town Sunday morning after a week of heavy rains.

Art has become incredibly versatile these days. Canvases are no longer what they used to be. Now, artists look beyond the ordinary and find a way to turn it into something extraordinary. One such artist is Akie Nakata who creatively turns stones into cute little animals. But this is no easy task. For Akie, it is more than just painting on a stone. She strives to bring out the living being that she feels in the stone and proceeds carefully. First, she considers where she is positioning the backbone. She also states that it is the stone that determines what she paints on it. Her goal? To paint the life, the living spirit of the being she feels inside the stone. Five former chiefs of the Mossad spy agency leveled harsh criticism at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week, with one saying that Israel was “dangerously sick” under his leadership.

The U.N. accidentally released passwords, internal documents, and other sensitive details when it failed to properly secure its accounts on Trello, a popular workplace project management website.
According to The Intercept, “[a]ffected data included credentials for a U.N. file server, the video conferencing system at the U.N.’s language school, and a web development environment for the U.N.’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.” It was made available to anyone who had the links to the material as opposed to specific users granted access. An important bill died in the legislature this year, “An Act Prohibiting Female Genital Mutilation.” Senate Bill 190 would have made it a Class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison, to perform female genital mutilation on a person under 18.
FGM is outlawed federally, and 26 other states in the United States also ban it. Connecticut needs to join them to put this terrible practice on the radar of schools, clinics, courts and police. A Michigan mother was arrested after she took away her daughter’s cell phone. The mother’s individual decision to discipline her child by taking her phone away was followed by her prompt arrest.
Jodie May did what classroom teachers do every day across America. But we’ve never reported a story where a teacher, a representative of the state, has ever been arrested and charged for effecting discipline in the classroom. But when May tried to do the same thing with her teenage daughter, she was charged with misdemeanor theft. LONDON (Reuters) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday the attackers who killed 25 people at a military parade had been paid by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and that Iran would “severely punish” those behind the bloodshed.

Within two weeks Russia will deliver to Damascus an S-300 air defense system, previously suspended on a request by Israel. It comes as part of response to the downing of a Russian Il-20 plane amid an Israeli air raid on Syria.
Moscow accused Tel Aviv of failing to inform Russia about its impending attack on targets in Syria, which resulted in a downing of the Russian electronic warfare aircraft by Syrian return fire. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the defense ministry to take several measures in response to the incident, the ministry said in a statement on Monday. Dallas Officer Amber Guyger, who is facing a manslaughter charge after fatally shooting 26-year-old Botham Jean in his Cedars apartment Sept. 6, was fired Monday.
